Amazing that at this point the number of people that don't like Raf outnumber Vitale fans 16-11

Vitale was great,.... until ~1989 or so, when he started becoming a caricature of what he had been, a high energy, enthusiastic announcer. As time went on it got more and more ridiculous. By the early 2000's he was too far gone.

I’m a fan of Jim Jackson. Doesn’t drone on telling the same stories of his playing days every broadcast, provides good insight into the style of play, and is always super complimentary of UConn.

Ron is a commercial real estate broker up here in Boston. We do some business with his company and I always enjoy talking hoops with him. I think he just got tired of trying to call games with the travel while doing his day job. He's probably in his late 60s now and just didn't want to do it any more even though he said he liked it because it kept him connected to the game.

He might be the worst alum you could pick. Arrogant and often uninformed, likes the sound of his own voice and can’t stop making things about him. You’d think the guy was Michael Jordan the way he talks sometimes. I’m consistently shocked someone at Fox chooses to cut him a paycheck - most fans of other teams agree

His love affair with Duke and the ACC just got ridiculous that nobody could take him seriously anymore.

Disagree. Jackson is really good when he’s paired with a play-by-play announcer who’s not a Gus Johnson or John Fanta type.

Which leads me to a second point. This poll should be split into two parts…play by play announcer and color analyst. Raftery is a color analyst… Gus Johnson is a play-by-play announcer.

Before my wife passed , she was sick for a couple years. I got accustomed to watching games with the sound muted so I could spend time with her and still watch games. Once you acclimate to it, it becomes normal. I now realize that all announcers talk way too much and find myself tuning them out.
