We're going next week. Hopefully the theater won't be too crowded.

I saw the movie Thursday night. I thought it was good to very good. Great? I'm not certain I'd rate it that high. Certainly worth seeing. I really liked Daisy and I think John did a nice job. I've always liked Lawrence Kasdan's screenplays and he has a lot of humor in this one. As with any first movie in a trilogy there will be some plot points to explain in the next movie. I'm being a little vague and I apologize, but there is a surprise in this movie that requires some explanation and I don't want to ruin it for you. The effects are awesome. I still think Empire Strikes Back is the best of them all, but I might put this one as my third favorite. I liked Revenge of the Sith second. My 19 year old son puts it third on his list, too. We actually agree on the first two. He felt there should have been more explained in this one as well but liked it. He's a Leo Dicaprio fan waiting for the revenant next month.

I wanted to vote that I have not seen it in the theater yet, but plan to. Unfortunately, that is not an option.
I too desperately wanted to vote, but was left no choice. :(

I saw it. Voted it was best but it's not as good as 4 and 5 but a solid third place overall. Great movie very well worth seeing.

It got a 95% from critics and a 93% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. Our entire family is going to see it after Christmas, hopefully when the lines are shorter.

No option for "No, but plan to see it". that would be my vote. Way to crazy to see it in the first 2-3 weeks that it comes out.

I thought it was great...I don't like ranking them, but I have a soft spot for The New Hope.

Bad poll... gap between the first two answers.
It was very good... not over-hyped... but not the best... and I put it in a tie for 2nd.

This was my thought, too, and why I didn't vote. I thought it was at least as good as my 3rd favorite Star Wars movie, Episode 4.

Most importantly, it wasn't just a great movie but it felt like a great Star Wars movie.

Going on Christmas day with Kids and Grandkids. Tickets are purchased! Might be nice to have an option between #1 and #2. It may not be the BEST SW but still may not be over hyped. There's room. :)

Saw it in 3D IMAX. Yes, it may be over-hyped. But I think it is the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back. Daisy Ridley is fabulous as the new generation Star Wars good guy.

There are a number of references, visual and otherwise, to A New Hope, so it's time well spent. Of course, watching them is time well spent anyway :)

Watched it Thursday night with my oldest son and 2,000 of our closets friends at the Ziegfeld. The crowd was really into it, including a couple of people who would wave their light sabers intermittently throughout the movie. Enjoyed it overall and agree with Ouremblem's son about the lack of explanations. I have a feeling that those missing explanations will probably be part of #8

I like what most say on here. Liked it A LOT. A REAL LOT. But for me behind The Empire Strikes Back which was my favorite. And for me behind the first Star Wars. Movie was a lotta fun.

Yes - saw it on opening night. It is really good, especially if you grew up with the original movies. Go see it - you will love it.

I'm considering seeing it again just for fun.

I actually felt like it was a little too derivative of A New Hope. Don't get me wrong, it was head and shoulders above the prequels, but I hope JJ Abrams feels a little bit more comfortable taking risks in the coming movies. It reminded me in that respect of the second Star Trek movie that Abrams did.

I enjoyed it immensely! A lot of great "one liners"--- and that new female lead was great! Chewey was awesome - again!!!! And the new droid was even funnier than R2D2!

IV and V are hard acts to follow. VII was quite predictable having seen IV and V incessantly(the dawn of the VCR era with two young kids). However, it was an enjoyable movie. Well worth the effort to watch. Set us all up nicely for VIII.
