Creighton always gives us a hard time and we’ve been struggling. How do you see our game at Creighton going this weekend? Be honest, the poll is anonymous. I’m not sure what I’m going to say as I type this. I don’t like how we are playing right now. I want and expect a transformation into a March killing machine, but I’m admittedly getting a little nervous.

They played the worst game in program history a couple days and are not the same team as recent years. These middle of the pack Big East teams are all the same. I think we win a tight one

Such poor mojo vibes with this thread.
No such thing. Face your demons. It’s not a tourney game. My concern with this game is that we’re facing a top notch coach. It will be interesting to see if his acumen is enough to beat a struggling UConn team or if we once again find a way to win despite playing poorly. It was a good sign that we beat Nova. I was anxious that Willard would expose us and we survived.

The purpose of this poll was really to get a discussion going about what you guys think in terms of when this team begins to gel. Even last night, during the SJU game, the announcers were saying how good UConn is and that soon Hurley would have us clicking on all cylinders. That’s my hope, but as we approach February, I’m getting antsy.

This team always changes. Silas wasnt playing great then he was. Smith wasnt playing great then he was. And yet some other guys have cooled off of late.
Totally unpredictable
All things must pass. We get a good W

Well you can’t throw Silas and Malachi on the same line. Silas has been the most consistent player for us for maybe 9-10 games. Remember when he was driving hard to the basket, getting too deep and he lost the ball or threw a bad pass earlier in the year? Haven’t seen it in a long time, he’s figured it out. Only thing holding him back at all is the foul situation but all else is really amazing how he’s figured it out. But honestly I want the ball in his hands late game clock to make a play.

We exorcised the demon in Newark a couple weeks ago. The Omaha house was cleared last year; now we’re better and they’re worse. Someone (probably a 20% shooter like Davis) will indeed go unconscious from 3 but we will as usual grind out a close win. People will say our defense was bad and also our offense was bad, rinse and repeat, we’ll be 21-1 and 11-0 and primed to take the #1 spot after Brother Bobby hits the high note of his season.

Totally agree. The gist is that we can't cut and paste a snap shot of a several games and make it a future reality. Judging by our recent takes on Smith there was no way he would've been the offensive hero of last game. But he was. We all would have been wrong. We will be happily wrong many more times this season

Why do you think Mullins will be back? Do you know something the rest of us don’t?
Wishful thinking I guess. I was reading Hurley’s comments earlier in the week that he was progressing, but that doesn’t guarantee anything reading them again. Hopefully he is back though!

I think Creighton is a much weaker team this year and they really miss the presence of RK….given what we saw earlier in non conference and at Marquette the other night…they really only have one quality win in conference against Villanova……definitely not a tournament team so will be playing for their lives Saturday to get a Quad 1 on their resume…I think UConn should use the bigs early and often to take crowd out of the game and I mean rotate Reed and Reibe on nearly even minutes like the other night so they are both fresh and dynamic in the post and give wide open looks to our 3 point shooters when Creighton tries to respond to our dominance in the post….Hopefully Mullins is back and we can rest Ball, let Demary, Smith and Karaban keep shooting since the were combined 9 of 14 from 3 against Providence

Someone asked after last year what Liam McNeeley's legacy would be. Willing his team to finally win at Creighton is at least part of it. It doesn't feel like we have a curse there or whatever

For Mullins first we need to know he is cleared for both practice and travel.

Would say doubtful for Creighton with no other insight than lack of comminications.
