The 8/9 curse. You will ALWAYS play the 1 seed in rd 2. Being a 10 seed is way better. Not much separation playing the 7 seed and there's always a chance of getting a 15 seed in round 2. Better to be a 10, 11, 12 than an 8/9 for sure.

In general, yeah. But at the time Syracuse's draw wasn't any better than ours. Michigan State looked like arguably the best team in the country and there were about as many - or less - picking them to beat Sparty as us to beat Kansas.

I don't think any deliberate cheating occurred. I do think they were treated with a gentler hand than UConn, though.

Seed 1/4 of the teams, and create a random draw. The only real argument I see against doing so is the best teams shouldn't meet until the later rounds. The problem with this argument is in the NCAA's crappy history in determining which are the best teams.

As I said they didn't deserve to get in the tourney but they could certainly play with most teams. The draw was sensational for Cuse in the 1st round with a vastly overrated Dayton team and then a team who in no way was going to play the way they did to beat Michigan State. Congrats on the S16, no matter how you get there it is a great weekend to have had. B the way by no means am I saying no one else has been fortunate on draws we certainly have been too - Duke always is. Keep it going, never know!
