apparently, in DB's lexicon, means yanking back the opposing center's arm flagrantly and throwing her down repeatedly and without consequence.

Playing with intention should have landed BG in detention.

Amen.

I think BG should have been thrown out of the game for the 2nd throw-down. It was a major and intentional foul with risk of injury to the player.
Griner and Kim Mulkey should be ashamed of themselves. And the NCAA should be handing out some game suspensions.

The first haul down put Dolson at risk for a really serious head injury and a major concussion. It was the cheapest shot and dirtiest play I have seen in a long time. And the second pull down (no foul called?) was also a pre-meditated and dirty play.

The net result is that this olde coach has zero respect for Griner, now, and forever more. I thought she had learned a lesson from throwing a punch in her freshman year. Sadly, there was no sign of that learning tonight.

I truly think this is what happens when you have ESPN in control of college sports. You can't eject Griner from the game, that is part of TV's big show. So, she is allowed to get away with it. The officiating did not cost them the game, but, it certainly put a burden on Uconn. I do not think you will ever see Griner play in the Olympics, you figure it out. Baylor 13 of 20 at the foul line, Uconn 4 of 4.

The foul diffential, I get, although not to that extent. You earn your fouls in the paint and Baylor owned the paint. But the the no call on that second haul down was unforgiveable. Was a ref in position to see it? Anyone have a still or video of it?

The ref was looking right at them. It was a clear "protect griner" no-call. Somewhere Jordan Barncastle is saying "I told you so"...

It was physical both ways, it made me worry one of them would get injured.

Dolson falls too much for a girl over 215 pounds.

She leans on Griner to impose her weight...since muscle mass is not the kind she has to shove around.

She played just as physical as always... Reminded me of the notre dame game against braker

Griner just ran to to tug her, but Dolson likes to flop n fall too much... She should try building muscle to shove better....not lean in like a falling tower of Pisa

She laughed about how clumsy she is during a timeout in the second half...being that she hit the floor again...without any contact or person within 4 feet. It reminds me of Texas A m Adams likeliness to fall or flop at the slightest touch...because she leans allot as well.

Yes, I heard from the BU fan sitting next to me about the theory that Stef flopped. I was informed the entire UConn team flops.

Physical is not the same as illegal and risking injury. Falling when the opponent removes their resistance is exactly how you counter strong bodying up. Grabbing, windmilling, and Griner's tactics not so much.

I thought there'd be more threads about the unsportsmanlike play of Griner. No reason for it, and should have resulted in an ejection.

Doris kept saying the game turned around when the ist flagrent was called - well duh, when you slam a player to the floor repeatedly it just takes the stuffing out of her.

Give me a break. Griner is extremely talented. She doesn't need to play dirty, but she did. I have zero respect for her or for the refs who let her get away with pulling down Dolson twice. I thought that when Griner punched a player her freshman year it was an aberration. I guess not.

Congratulations on the victory. Your team played great. But Griner should have been ejected from the game. One of these days another player is going to clock Griner when she resorts to dirty tactics. It might not happen this year, but it surely will happen in the WNBA or some overseas league.

AND...when you slam a player to the floor repeatedly, with no repercussions, except the announcers fawning over your play, it tends to embolden you. I have no respect for her at all, and I lost what little respect I had for doris...

lol. On the called flagrant Griner yanked her to floor. Hardly a flop, she fell to the floor hitting her head. That was a WWE take down, that would have been flagrant in the men's game. The second (no call) fragrant was worse as Griner elbow was up at Dolson's throat. She should have been ejected and sat the next game.

Griner is an amazing athlete. Besides her size, she's so physically gifted. She should not stoop to those tactics. This wasn't "being physical." This was two dirty plays by a player unaccustomed to not being able to dominate on size and athleticism alone. I am disappointed in Griner and in Mulkey, who seemed to condone the these dangerous cheap shoots.

Hopefully we will see you again this season. I'd like UConn to be the team that stops your drive to the second title. It was clear from last night's game that, even with many players not at their top form, we have the tools to do it.

On one play Griner farted when she drove past Dolson and the air current knocked Dolson to the court.

Seriously, ETT? Come on. Those were both pretty obvious fouls. Dolson sometimes loses her balance, but those were ridiculous. Have a little class, you are on the UConn board.

You have great fans but wanting to have the best player in WBB ejected so your team can win smacks of ... well ... Texas Tech. Dolson handed out just as much as she took last night but the problem is she is no match physically for Griner. You can't grab, pull and hack and then whine about it when you end up on the floor. The "2nd throw-down" as you call it came after Dolson was getting beat to the basket and grabbed Griner. Any objective observer could see that on the replay.

If a player had done that to Griner you would be calling for the same thing.

Hmmmm... as I recall when they replayed the second foul over and over again each, time Doris Burke and company said that a foul should be called. True she is over the top in her praise of the great players, yet at that moment at that time and at that play she was concerned about the no whistle.

So, the thing is that even the Baylor fans know that in a rough game, Griner gave some cheap shots. That’s why they’re here trying to defend her when her actions can’t honestly be defended. The refs saw it – well, once, anyway; the announcers saw it; and everyone watching saw it, if not live then on the highlights - it got onto the highlight clip. It’s not debatable; not even close, and the fact that some Baylor fans feel a need to try and come over here to try to spin Griner’s actions into something acceptable just tells us that they know it too.
Sad.
