Well deserved. Obvious pick on all accounts IMO:
2X College POY
1 NCAA title
1 WNBA MVP
1 WNBA ROY
A lot of All Stars and All-WNBA awards
4 WNBA Titles
6 WNBA Final Appearances in 8 seasons
2 Olympic Gold Medals

Stewart would probably be my #2 option.
2 NCAA titles.
 
Stewie took over WNBA in just her 3rd year after 4 college titles. Tough to look past her.
Also, as much as Maya is deserving, she took the last year + off so really only played basketball for 9 or so years of the decade. I guess it's saying something that she's viewed that favorably with only 9 years of stats under her belt.

If you had to pick an all decade team of 10 players, I'm betting at least 5 would be former UCONN players...
 
Should we erect a statue on campus like USCe did for What's Her Name?

Absolutely agree---if there is an award for the nicest person of the Decade--I nominate Maya Moore.
She is an example for all Girls to follow: Successful in her endeavors (through hard work) and treats all as all should treat each other.
 
Um, Didn't the 21st Century begin in 2001? The first 10 numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Since there is no year zero isn't 2021 the first year of the decade?
 
Centuries begin on the 1 and decades begin on the zero...exception for the leap decades of course :D Head bang

The "media", sheesh. I like this explanation: Decades are conventional concepts, and the conventional concept of a decade starts with the zero year. Saying the conventional concept is wrong is an oxymoron, since what makes conventional concepts conventional is convention.

Seriously? This means that centuries contain 9 full decades and 2 partial decades. Strange.

The question is : Where was THAT convention held? You can't be conventional without a Convention, can you?? How much Oxy does a genius need to be wrong? Did they Conceive that concept in a Conception Convention?

No, the 21st century began Jan. 1, 2001. Just count to 100, you have to include 100.

Why then was all the hype over Y2K expecting Computers shutdowns on 01/01/2000 didn't people celebrate the start of a new century?? Confusing??? European and American heads of Air Travel flew at midnight to show how safe it was. They didn't fly a year later.

The first millennium started in year one, not year zero. It ened at the close of year 1000. Therefore the third millennium started on Jan 1st 2001 and the first century of that millennium started on the same date. It follows that the decades are in sync with the centuries. Our society however likes to use the terms "the tens, the twenties, the thirties to designate ten year periods. But society has been wrong before. There was a time when it was obvious to everyone that the sun revolved around the earth.

You are confusing the close of a century with a digital computer problem. I understand the convention of a century ending at the end of year 99, but 10,000 years from now that "ancient" convention will be used by educators to get a chuckle out of their students.
