What she probably needs is to play a lot and that wasn't going to happen in Storrs. She can thrive on a zone-playing team. A 6'5" plus athlete who can run the floor is a rare thing in a mid-major conference. Butler's hands weren't good enough to play a lot at UConn but she led the nation in rebounding playing in the Colonial conference. I expect her to lead her conference in rebounding. (unless UMass joins the B1G)

I was hoping she would find/pick a Big East team so we could see her face off against us but all the best

Apples and oranges between Butler and Paith. Butler started at UConn with a broken thumb but you saw her upside once healed at George Mason (set record for double doubles) and frosh year at Georgetown (Frosh of Year in Big East). Wishing Paith the best but suspect if her upside stood out in practice, Geno would have given her more playing time. UMass a good fit.

Nice to see Piath finding a spot to continue playing basketball. She didn't go far but as a place for a college kid to be for a few years, Amherst is a definite upgrade from Storrs. Amherst is a cute little town with lots of amenities for students. For hanging out purposes there are two other colleges in town, Amherst and Hampton. A short drive across the river gets you to Northampton and Smith College. Just up I-91 is Greenfield and the entrance to the Mohawk Trail (Rt 2) which is a lovely drive and gets you to the western Mass hills. All in all a great place to spend your college years. Enjoy Piath and do good!

Butler would not have come close to her NCAA record setting Rebounds and Double Doubles, if she stayed at UConn.

Imagine what Stewie, Maya, Taurasi, Bird, Tina, etc would have done against that level of competition. Big fish in a little pond.
