Please outline UCONN in blue or at least make the end zones blue...I understand the red but it should only be here and there as an accent. National flag blue is still UConn' s main color and clearly somebody doesn't understand this.

You know as boring as that sounds, I loved that game back in the day.

Shady was a fan too.

Seriously, the fact that this photo even exists is disturbing.

I'm not sure if this was posted before, but here is what the field will be looking like:

I don't mind the new logo, but I"m not loving it.

I'd like to see the goal post netting get an face lift too. Something that would really annoy opposing teams and especially their kickers. Any suggestions?

Could put a pic of yo momma on there

.-.
Bingo. Agree on all fronts.

Side note, I think we are getting a little over sensitive over people "complaining" about stuff. Maybe it's the DJ on the Michigan tickets thread, but it's perfectly ok to not like some stuff about the field design and express that here. Doesn't mean anyone is cancelling their season tickets.

It's like DJ is screaming from the ticket "Keep Looking in Pine Lake!"

I like UCONN at midfield but why wouldn't it go from sideline to sideline?

We need fan involvement:
- Put a giant bullseye on the netting, giving the kicker something to aim at.
- Every quarter the fans can move the netting, so that the UConn kickers have a target right between the goalposts, the opponent has a target outside the goal posts.
- Let the fans shake the netting so that the target moves and shakes.

Or:
- Have a giant UConn husky/wolf puppet. Each quarter it adjusts. On the UConn side it smiles and winks (and wags its tail). On the other side it snarls and lunges forward every 3 seconds.

Fans behind the goalposts can hold up yellow placards to blend in with the color of the posts. Make it tough for opposing kickers to see those things!

Lets start with buying season tickets and seeing the opening kick from those same seats. Baby steps.

Not a fan of turf. Also, I don't think the rent management would go for it as they wouldn't be able to book soccer.

The Patriots have field turf and host soccer all the time at Gillette...

So THAT'S where the strategy to lateral the ball across the field & fumble it to the Huskies came from in 2003!

Not the USMNT

There have been plenty of international soccer matches held at Gillette. And if the US lands the World Cup again, it has been named as a site. Better?

When the US Men's Soccer Game is held at Gillette, there are required per FIFA rules to provide a grass field. This would hold true for any National Games, World Cup Quilifiers or future World Cup Games. While working on the Patriot Place project, the US National Team and other countries (Brazil) played at Gillette. A week or two before the game, they laid down grass. Right after the game, they ripped it up. Now, there is an added expense, but it was my understanding that the Krafts were never losing money on these games.

Should the Rent turn to Field Turf, I feel like we may become more of a 2nd or 3rd choice stadium. Right now, permanent grass is a big plus to the Rent landing games like the recent Gold Cup game against Costa Rica.

The last two rounds, the Rent has been host to a send off game for the US for the World Cup. It allows the team to visit ESPN before going on their way. I would expect the same to occur next year. If the field turf decision has already been made, I expect the following to occur after seeing the scoreboard debacle.

- US plays a non World Cup European Team in the earlier summer at the Rent on natural grass.
- The Rent is ripped up of their beautiful natural grass.
- Dirt remains, as all wait for the funding meeting that only happens on August 1st to approve the funding of the Field Turf
- Late start, turfs not ready by the first game and everyone is up in arms.

Love the natural grass of the Rent. It gets better every year. Count me in the court of "I hope it stays"...

It looks like little plastic players should be moving in random circles on it while the whole thing vibrates.

Goddamnit. Don't go giving away George DeLeones zone blocking scheme play book!

Unless something horrible has happened in the last week and a half- the field looks to be in amazing condition, too.

If they stop playing soccer at the Rent I'm cancelling my season tickets.

Thanks for clarifying and yes, I fully expect your last bullet point to happen.

And
If they stop playing soccer at the Rent I'm cancelling my season tickets.

And you criticize my negative posts? Nobody cares about soccer.
The Rent needs field turf as well. Come October the grass looks like shat

I'm pretty sure you are the only one who did not realize my post was sarcasm.
