Phoenix Mercury @ Seattle Storm - 8/28/18

When Seattle has an on-court huddle, Sue talks and everyone listens as if their life depends on it. She is the new E.F. Hutton.

Seattle moves the ball very well. Jordin Canada has 10 off the bench, and Seattle leads by 11.

.-.
The MVP has 23. Any team with Sue and Breanna is really good.

Kaleena just came off a screen, got a pass from Canada, and swished a mid-range jumper. Sweet!

67-51 after 3Q. Phoenix is 0-13 from the arc. Dee and January are 0-8. I look for them to get untracked at least a little in the last 10 minutes.

Looks increasingly like nothing is going to stop Seattle this season. I'm happy for Sue, she sure deserves another championship (or two?) to cap of her most remarkable career.

I feel for the GOAT, though. She's trapped on a team that, in my opinion, just isn't going to be a contender during her remaining time as an active player, no matter how well Diana plays. That has to be frustrating for her.

I don't know about Phoenix. Bonner and Griner are really good.

Phoenix made a huge run and cut the deficit to 4. Howard's FTs just made it a 6-point game. But Phoenix has Dee, who just hit from 25'.

.-.
GOAT just cut it to 3. I knew it was coming.

Half of her 22 points came in the last quarter.

Sue missed from 25', and Phoenix may have the ball with 7 seconds left. I'm expecting OT.

.-.
Dee has now missed 3 straight midrange jumpers. 1-point game.

Argh! Sue missed a scoop layup. It would have given Seattle a 3-point lead.

.-.
Oldest player in the league makes 2 clutch FTs with :04 left. Out of range from the GOAT??

Dee took a 3 at the buzzer and should have gotten the call, but got a no call. She stared at the ref as she left the court. They were down 4, so it would have been unlikely as the shot was far off.

DT spits on the court after the game...classless move. Absolutely incredible game though, was rooting for Phoenix. Phoenix has an uphill battle ahead, can’t believe they were in it at the end.
