Same. As a west coaster it'd be nice if they threw us a F4 bone once in a while for basketball or volleyball.

The Midwest is heavily represented for both, and Texas/Florida.

I hope Phoenix or Portland gets picked. Very rarely is a Western city chosen. Denver in 2012, San Jose way back in '99.
This is really ridiculous. So maybe once every 13 years is the NCAA's preferred frequency?

It's pretty bad. It didn't start that way. Going back a little further it was LA in '92, Tacoma back to back in '88 and '89 and LA in '84. Maybe the committee got confused when they awarded it to Denver it 2012 and meant to permanently exclude the West.

Not a big fan of Columbus. We went to the F4 there a couple of years ago and it was the least impressive experience of our 7-8 F4’s.

Could you expound please? I was curious about Columbus as a host city.

Why not hold it in NY NJ or CT. We've earned it and dont say it will be a UConn home game.

Do we know whether any cities in those states have submitted bids?

Like the NCAA would put a final four in CT..... there is no final four worthy arena in Connecticut. I wont disparage the city of Hartford, but doubt its a city that people would want to visit in early April. I doubt the Knicks/Rangers/MSG would want to clear out any space for a Women's Final Four. They already cede a week to hold the Big East Men's tournament. Newark? meh.

I don't think it has anything to do with who might be in it. As others have said, plus a couple -

1 - a lack of available or suitable arenas. There are arenas that would do, but as others said, lots of luck getting into them

2 - the expense of the area. Prices are, um, hefty in the NY area, it is after all why we headed west when we had chance

3 - probably, no one has submitted a serious bid - probably because of points 1 and 2.

How about putting the Football Championship game in Legion Field, or at Bank of America Stadium. Cause you know... Alabama and or Clemson have earned it?

Oh please not that dump Legion Field. Is that the stadium that is in Birmingham,Ala.
Where the Papa Johns Bowl was held? No thanks.

Hey they had Portland listed and Oregon would have an advantage if the games were there. So kiddingly I posted CT.

I actually thought it is an interesting point (lack of NY area) - although I do think the FF was in Boston some years back. In fact, I'm sure of it, because we went to a high school game that was associated with it.

As to Portland, I must say that many years ago (2000, to be exact) Rutgers played in the Regional there (beat Georgia) and it was a really nice city and atmosphere.

2006 Final Four Boston...... no northeastern teams involved.... I'll have no more to say about that Boston Final 4. Just hope they never get one again.

Boston is expensive. Horrible traffic. And parking sucks. Went to a sox game and we had to park almost 2 miles away and pay $30.00.

Thanks for the year - It was Cappie Pondexter's senior year at Rutgers, and they did a game for seniors as part of the Final Four festivities - at a local college arena. We went - it isn't all that far from Rutgers.

Our only Final Fours have been Charlotte in the mid-'90's and the 2 that Rutgers was in - Philadelphia in 2000 and Cleveland in '07. We have also been to 2 Women's College World Series, don't know the exact years. One was in the mid '90's and I think UCLA won in the old format, the other was in the early teens after we moved to Arizona. The next year we cancelled due to excessive tornado activity and then my wife's health deteriorated.

Personally, I am ok with the south, southeast, southwest, west and northwest all getting to host the FF as that way, they actually get to see UConn and good basketball AND FULL ARENA's! We in Connecticut have already experienced this. Just stop holding in the Midwest as it's still cold and the fans bases are fickle...;)
