Holy crap...he reminds me of Kemba while Jalen reminds me of Shabazz. Get that combo on the court together, and GREAT things will happen for this program.
Adams athleticism makes him unique imo. Gilbert is closer to kemba, because of his size, speed, and handles.

UConn bound, without question.

Interesting to see him going with the old husky logo, kid probably grew up a fan of some of our best teams and players.

Getting back to back classes with stud PGs in Adams and Gilbert is such a blessing. Gilbert's size is going to make his road to the league much more difficult, but I have little doubt that he's going to be an impact college player who lets his results do the talking, just like Boat did and will do in the summer league.

I'm so excited. Wow. This escalated quickly. Not trying to get too cocky yet though...

Let's go...I know KO didn't land King, but if he gets this kid he will be on some sort of hot streak. He is just getting it done. Hoping we all here the news we want to hear on the 4th. God bless UCONN, KO and America!

I think we're just about a lock. He was talking about taking visits to other schools in August but those clearly aren't happening. He's set on UConn. Good choice. We are PG U. No doubt about it.

I'm not one to guarantee anyone else's behavior, but I'm very confident in what I've heard, and it's the same that most folks in this thread have heard. If he's not a Husky by Sunday, it would come as a pretty big surprise to a lot of people.

We need to have "Ozzie" from the TOS board join here, he dropped the nugget that Gilbert was committing here on the 4th a week ago and it went basically ignored because that board is dead. He also basically called it right after his visit.

You can throw Illinois, Texas and Syracuse out the window. All tried to get visits and got nowhere. UT took another six-footer guard earlier in the week - they've moved on with their lives.

So UConn and Louisville....

How'd that UL visit go?

So, it's "next" in the best of ways...

Ozzie said Gilbert was coming here during his visit and in the months since then has said it's still a done deal. That board is totally dead but I occasionally check it just to see what he says, dude is plugged into the program.

Ozzie really knows his stuff. He must have his reasons for not posting here.

Really hope we close on Brendan Bailey next. I think his recruitment will really blow up if we don't.

I'm personally not crazy about Bailey due to the 2 year mission he may take during his collegiate career. From a pure basketball standpoint, it sucks (obviously it's an amazing thing for every other facet of life). I'd rather see us try to get back in with Battle, as KO's "list" may have indicated. We do definitely need a 2/3, though. My first choice is Diallo, but as of now, he is still a 2017 kid. Really hope Gilbert follows through this weekend. He's an amazing guard and shows that we're still a program that can excel on the national level of recruiting.

Personally I've seen several Mormon basketball players contemplate going on a mission, but never has it actually happened. I doubt Bailey will take a mission at a time that would be detrimental to his career. He's tall and long, has a killer perimeter game, and Corey Evans said his handle is impressive as well. We have a lot of athletes slated for our 2016 team, but not a lot of jump shooting. This guy could play the 2-4, and give us something we really need.

FWIW a scout analyst on a premium board indicated Gilbert most likely to Uconn
