Perkins Update (not going to get a UK offer)

I dont see why your having so much trouble with my post. I almost feel like your giving me a hard time for the hell of it. I never said anything about our winning success or our # of national championships. I'm specifically referring to recruiting success. Recruiting at a high level and winning games are two different things. We recruit at a high level but there are a number of schools that consistently recruit at a higher level. Part of the reason could be location. Arizona, Florida, Duke, UNC, UCLA to name but a few all seem to have much more apprealing location. Thats all I am saying...Is it really that radical?

I know what you are saying- if one million years ago when UCONN was founded- had they put it in Stamford (as an example) we would be more firmly attached to the NYC market geographically. Not a crazy comment just a statement of fact. No reason to get ur panties in a wad.

Durham is a hell hole. I would take Storrs every time. The only thing going for Durham is that they have better weather.

Not that it has a big impact on sports, but the Ivy whiffed on some locations too. Yale, Penn, and Columbia in particular. Dartmouth depends on how you feel about isolation.

Well when the Ivies were established the Northeast was pretty much where everything and everyone was. There was no California, Florida, etc.

I think you mean UCLA instead of UK, and I think all of the other guys are just falling in line with what Meyer predicted in this case
