I'm trying to think of the "package deals" we've scored over the years.
  • Alex Oriakhi and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel
    • Alex was a bigger piece but Jamal had that huge rebound in the BET. I think JC might have had issues with Jamal's work ethic, but I could be making that up.
  • Jake Voskuhl and Michael LeBlanc
    • I think Mike might have been the more highly touted recruit at the time but he never caught on and transferred to Vanderbilt and finally Houston Baptist.

Any others?
Yes LeBlanc was the higher rated recruit and more skilled than Voskuhl, but LeBlanc's defense or lack of it pissed off Calhoun.

Ironically if that guy picking crystal ball for Betsey to UConn is right about Bidunga going to Auburn, it would make me feel better about his prediction of Betsey to UConn, while being bad news about chances to land our big guy target. Conversely, If he is wrong about Auburn and Duke lands Bidunga that's good news for Patrick but the Betsey 7/10 feels more like another stab in the dark.
So I guess we shouldn't feel good about that guy's 7/10 level of confidence pick for UConn?

Maybe Kansas with a little more 11th hour NIL like with Timberlake....or more likely nobody knows anything.

So taking 2 Duke and KSt OVs. He did combo visits with Abraham before, so not quite the same, but did say in his own words that he took OVs to those places. Kinda unusual to take 2 OVs to multiple schools.

Good news: We made the top 8

Bad news: No visit scheduled (yet)

Good news: PC didn't get a scheduled visit yet either and we all know Pat's recruitment is essentially down to the Huskies and Friars anyway.

plenty of time in his schedule for OV in early October

He already announced his Top 8 in July so nothing new on that.

Didn't he already take an official visit to UConn this summer? What's the rule on official visits? I know recruits can take as many visits as they want now, but can they officially visit a school more than once? Is it once per year? I forget all these rules and I know this was recently changed.

Unlimited visits now. No limitations.

Yes... he visited in June along with I. Abraham, his cousin.

I didn't have time to look it up before but I just did because I wanted to see if there are any restrictions. Just can't be more than 1 official visit to each school in any academic year.

Beginning July 1, 2023, recruits will no longer have a limit on the number of official visits they can make to NCAA D1 schools. Previously, recruits were only allowed to visit five D1 schools. This means D1 recruits will now have the opportunity to explore more schools before making their commitment decision.

Recruits are, however, still limited to only one official visit per school. The only exception is if there’s a head coaching staff change; only then could an athlete revisit the same D1 school.

In men’s basketball, recruits are still allowed a second official visit to the same school, as long as the second visit isn’t during the same academic year.

While there is a mention of UConn in the piece, I feel the longer his recruitment goes on, the more we are apt to lose our edge?

Has he slipped out of our grasp?

It is puzzling how the momentum we had after Nowell committed has ground to a halt.
