Watching the last few games we can see UConn is not firing on all cylinders when it comes to scoring. We still have a few players playing catch up from their injuries. As a team we are starting to gell. There was no game where it was more evident then the Duke games second half. The veteran starters turned it up a knoch. The chemistry is getting better. UConn has looked to be playing more like a team in a flow. Last night againest Nova was another sparkling performance. You know whats really funny. We are really beating up on teams and we're not firing on all cylinders. Can you imagine when the freshman become more acclimated and Kiah and Bria are back up to speed. Scoring is not a problem for UConn. We pretty much have had Breanna KML and Stef who have been on fire. Anybody else who chips in is a pleasant surprise and as the weeks go on they will eventually catch up to every body else. After watching last nights game Im really excited. Just be patience and watch this team grow. Its going to be even better then what we are seeing now.

Tony, let me pick up on your comment about the veteran starters turning it "up a knoch."

They know how to knock down shots. When must happen is that they put knumbers on the board, knever let down, and -- above all -- Beat that team from Knoxville (if we play again), whip Knotre Dame and win the Knational Championship.

The biggest improvement can yet come from Morgan (the almost forgotten person) among other things I see her as the ultimate "garbage collector" in the manner of Charles Oakley or Paul Silas

Tony - nice post. We often forget that the season is a progression and hopefully we just hit the mid point. I like what I have seen so far and agree that the last few games are very positive. In the second half of the Duke game Geno was careful to limit the number of young players on the court and while that limited their minutes, the minutes they got were much more productive and the team had flow. Then Cinci first half was mostly more of the same and the second half was just prolonged garbage time - young'uns got lots of minutes but it was ugly. Last night against a much better team, the substitution pattern in the first half was more integrated with freshman and sophs getting quite a bit of time, and more than one at a time being out there. While the second half slowed down, the team still played well with a few of the experienced players staying on the floor with the young'uns again.
Everyone seems to be healthy again (lets hope MJ's ankle is OK this AM) and I see great things coming.

Morgan tries to force shots, IMO. I haven't seen her yet just let the game "come to her", in a manner of speaking. I think she is trying to make the most of her time out there and thinks the best way to do that is to score. She is incredibly strong and often gets great position, but doesn't have quite the footwork or touch of Stef yet. And she isn't really consistent from behind the arc, either.

That said, she has so much potential. If she works as hard as Stef did, she is going to be great.

-Nice post. The simple truth is, this train is going to pull into New Orleans, whether everyone who posts here is on board or not.
.
- If your hair is genetically prone to catch on fire, you need not take it too seriously (Certainly the team doesn't.) since there's always pleanty of room for fellow fans in our lively Smoking Car, where you can even play engineer (who hasn't?).
.
-Or, join Tony and the rest of us just enjoying it all, laughing in the Observation Car.
.
-Either way, hope everyone enjoys the ride. Its half the fun.

Early in the season the praise that Meghan couldn't stop giving to Morgan was how patient she was with the ball and how she went up strong with it. Meghan hasn't been sining that song lately.
