FSU & Clemson have always pushed for stronger football teams & Louisville fit the bill especially if you look at their record & investment since Jurich became AD. Since 1997 Uof L has won 160 games, been to 16 bowls &only had 3 losing seasons. They have state of art facilities along with the willingness to spend to compete with the big dogs

Yup, and they are willing to push the envelope on certain things as well. Bringing Bobby Petrino back when no other P5 school would touch him surprised me. He's a good coach, but his resume was tarnished a bit with his motorcycle ride. I though if he came back to a P5 school, it would take longer than it did.

I'm not disagreeing with you. But, I thought BC became territorial and blocked UConn because they wanted to be "New England's School."

My guess is that if Tobacco Road wanted UConn, BC and Syracuse couldn't stop it. They may have wanted to be the New England school, but they had no leverage. BC threatens to leave if UConn is admitted, Tobacco Road says

FSU and Clemson leaving has much more leverage than BC does. BC may have gone along with what FSU and Clemson were saying, but the power lies with the football schools.

I know this isn't a popular opinion here, but the ACC made the right call. It stopped Big12 expansion and secured themselves as a power conference. UConn may have made them more money, especially with the ACCN coming in a couple of years, but taking you all couldn't have stopped Big12 expansion like taking UL did.

I don't think 'cuse was a part of the conference yet, so while they may have expressed a preference, they didn't have a vote.

BC wasn't driving the push for 'ville, it was, as you correctly state, FSU and Clemson, but BC was part of the coalition that backed 'ville.

This was FSU and Clemson flexing their muscle against Tobacco Road. The timing was such that they prevailed.

I believe that BC backed the UL coalition. I hope someday you all will be part of either the Big10 or ACC (preferably the Big10). I know there is a group of Michigan fans that wanted UConn over Rutgers and still voice that opinion over on MGoBlog.

Yeah, I've actually posted a few times that RU made more sense, so long as athletic competence wasn't the prime criteria.

I hope we will find and home in the B1G, preferably, or the ACC, but I don't see how it will happen.

People are getting confused. BC blocked us in the round that got Pitt and Cuse in. It was supposed to be UConn and Cuse but BC objected per their AD. FSU and Clemson blocked us in the last round and rumor is Cuse backed them. Neither Cuse or BC has learned that UConn is good for them. I whole heartedly agree that they are good for us too.

Check out the clueless ones on the cuse boards, they don't get it. Haha, they still think uconn is no good despite tons of national championships in many sports. 4 in mens bball alone + all the womens championships and Uconn has been great in soccer, field hockey and other sports too.
