Pan-American Games

I'd pretty much forgotten about de Souza, she's still kickin'. Tough player. She's almost as old as Bird and Taurasi.

A few months older than Taurasi, in fact.
She had a fairly productive 10-plus-year WNBA career, most recently played for San Antonio in 2017.

Looking at the box score, Brazil got contributions from all positions but the one who killed the US was Taina Da Paixão with 24 points on 6-9 FG and 12-14 FT (!!).

Experience and maturity count for a lot at this level, and you could tell which team had the professionals and which ones were the amateurs.

Da Paixão had some killer drives including a real highlight reel to put
Brazil up by 8 with 3 minutes left.

Oops, my bad. I remember her mostly from Atlanta. She used to scare me. Meanest, toughest player in the league back then I thought.
