Must have been a homemade vid off of a recording from DVR. There's a setting on some movie editing apps where you can change the visual to a comic mode, then upload to youtube.

It was an interesting game tonight. Congrats to the Sky. But first...Prime with a major screwup - they lost the game for about 3 critical fourth quarter minutes (offering no explanation, but filling the time with commercial upon commercial).
Back to the game: Arike showed up in the first half tonight (&, indeed for the entire game) and was very effective with her drives and long-range bombs.
The Wings usage of Paige is kind of weird. She'll bring the ball up, but will rarely touch the ball again once she gives it up. She had another impressively impactful game (as pointed out in the previous post), culminating in a last minute attempt at a three which hit nothing (though, as noted by the horrible Chicago announcers, she was probably fouled on the shot...). Again, it seems that, because the defense will collapse on her, she is frequently able to pass the ball to teammates who are wide open (& invariably miss those shots).
The team has still really not figured out their front court and their defensive switches, but they can be an exciting offensive team when Arike plays her normal aggressive game (& shares the ball - she can be a very effective passer off of her drives).

The defense of the Wings in the last few minutes of the game was the matador style...very disappointing
They also forced some bad shots. Arike went off for 37 points. But she really took some tough shots down the stretch.

Watching Paige against the Sun and the Sky makes me feel like she never left UConn. You can just see the confidence she has on the court. She is learning that even though she may pass it to her teammates, it doesn't mean she will get it back. I can see that Arike is still the go-to person on this team, and I also can see that Paige knows that, and if she wants to score it will be up to her to create her own shot. ACCOMPLISHED. As I said, she is looking like she did at UConn, not only finding open shots, but making them. The last two games she has been one of the bright spots on this team, and eventually they will get it and start to win. I think Paige is slowly becoming the leader of this team, and the sooner everyone buys into this the sooner they will become a top offensive team.

Poor Paige. That game was atrocious. I've never seen such a poorly constructed, badly coached pro basketball team in my life. When the ball leaves her hands, she never gets it back. Like, ever. It's Paige and 4 starters who don't move, cut, or pass. The ball leaves her hands to initiate the offense and then the players she passes it to either shoots or creates a shot she misses.

Arike is Arike. But Carrington and Hines-Allen doing their best Arike impersonation is just.....not it.

Paige is on a roster(minues Siegrist and perhaps McCowan) that don't compliment her skill set at all.

As good as Paige & Arike both played last night, there is still a troubling dynamic on the Wings. Both Paige & Arike hit big 3’s down the stretch off of nice 2-man games. But subsequently, with the game on the line, Arike went one on one, forcing up 2 awkward shots (both missed) and the Wings lost a very winnable game.

I’m not sure how the dynamic between Paige and Arike plays out. Both players seem to be at their best with the ball in their hands. But when the game is on the line, the Wings are better off with the ball in Paige’s hands.

At least there were some screens being set for Paige and I saw a couple well-executed pick and rolls. Maybe some incremental improvements?

That's a coaching problem and I'm not sure this coach has the answers

Paige only took TWO three point shots. Did she ever play any game at UConn where she only took two three pointers?

Paige seems hesitant to drive to the basket in the W..this may be because of the increase physicality..Also she is shootng a below average 33% on her 3's
There is a lot of comments about Arike but as much I don't like her game she is a star in the W and this will always be her team unfortunately
It shows how bad a team the SUN are when Dallas can beat them

It is not clear what the game plan is for the Wings. Sometimes Paige has the ball and can dictate the offense but at times she passes off and the seems to have to almost jump up and down to get the ball back or has to create her own shot. Does not the coaching staff see this? Or is this still "trying to find the right combination"? In the meantime, Erike does her own thing whenever she feels on which in her high opinion of herself is just about ay time she has the ball. I think this coach is intimidated by her and does nothing to reign her in.

If Paige succeeds on the Wings it will only be by her own high basketball IQ and skills, certainly not by anything that she is getting from the Wings.

Erike sharing the ball? Effective passer? I must be watching a different game.

Arike is ranked 15th in the WNBA with 4.2 assists per game
