No surprise here. I just hope this isn't more serious than they're letting on.

So your starting line will be:

PG - Anna Makurat
SG - Evina Westbrook
SF - Christyn Williams
PF - Aubrey Griffin
C - ONO

However, the starting line up should be

PG - Nika Muhl
SG - Evina Westbrook
SF - Christyn Williams
PF - Aubrey Griffin
C - ONO

LOL Yeah, no. Anna will not play point guard for UConn. Ever. If Anna starts Evina will run the point.

They all will get a chance to play. Why obsess over something so insignificant?

No, she shouldn't start. Where has she earned it? In fact, if Geno had another guard under scholarship Nika would see minimal minutes, even today. Nika had better get her defense and shot right, and well before the end of season. With Fudd next year the bench will become Nika's friend.

It's kinda worrying that they won't say how bad the injury is like they did when Aliyah and Nika got injured.

What makes you think they won't say? The injury happened Thursday evening and it's now early Sat afternoon. There's a game today which will be the first opportunity for Geno to address the issue with the media.

Not that UConn wants to make a habit of playing without her, but this will give Geno a good opportunity to see just how UConn’s offense will run without Paige, something we hopefully don’t have to see again unti the 2024-25 season.

Nika Muhl has made one shot in her college career, don't be silly

The starting lineup should be who the coach says it should be.

Not to change the subject or take the focus off of Paige, but Maya Moore played in all 154 college games. I believe she missed only 1 or 2 games in her years as a pro. Durability is a huge asset.

In one of my last comments relative to Paige's injury, I suggested that she sit this out. So since it has come to fruition, I'm happy. As for who starts, I'll take what comes. We're playing Georgetown, a 1-4 team who is parked at the bottom of the BIG East Conference standings.

If our opponent was South Carolina, then I would be more concerned. Georgetown would be a mid-level AAC team. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the game today. UConn is finishing up their "3 games in 5 days" run through the schedule. The Arkansas game is 5 days away. More than enough time for everyone to recover from any minor injuries they may have. The reserves should get 1-2 more minutes today. This one will be over early. Enjoy the game everyone. :)

Westbrook runs the point - no brainer
Williams is 2 guard
Makurat starts at the 3
Griffin is the 4
Liv is the 5.

I think Asjha played in every game while at UConn

There are 30-40 additional minutes of PT available today. This could be a really important opportunity for both Anna & Nika to change their current trajectory on this team.

Add to your poignant points: It means opportunities for others. "Coming out party" for Nika. Things start to click for Aubrey, Mir, and Aaliyah. Another solid effort for E and CW. Next thing you know we show up for Arkansas, DePaul, and SC as a more seasoned, experienced, savvy group.

With both Paige and Anna unavailable, I think Geno will start Evina (PG), Christyn, Aubrey, Aaliyah, and Olivia. That will allow all the starters to play in positions where they are comfortable, and puts the biggest adjustment burden on Evina, who is up to it. Mir may be the first player off the bench, and Nika will get significant minutes but will not be expected to bear a major load. It is even possible that Piath will get some non-garbage minutes if there is foul trouble in the starting front court.

After the TN game, Aaliyah deserves the reward of starting under these conditions.

The fact she was able to come back in and play is a positive sign. If it was a very bad, high-ankle sprain (3 to 4 week recovery time), the pain would be too much. Hopefully, she is able to play in the Arkansas game with 1 week recovery.
