Paige Bueckers vs 5 Star Iowa St Commit Lexi Donarski

Wow, Lexi 24 pts vs Paige's 9. But the W is what everyone was after so....

Apparently, Paige "couldn't guard a chair". I suspect Geno will remind her from time to time of the importance of defending.

Wish Hopkings page included assists as most of the highlights were Paige having assists on made baskets.

Apparently? How so?

Stats!!!! The only one that matters is W’s and L’s. In a 21 point win, anyone getting out scored by 15 means what exactly? And that is assuming they had a “mini one on one game” within the game. If that WERE the case possible kudos to Bueckers for not getting caught up in it. While I have never seen her play, I am sure she is a great player but I have played, coached and watched enough sports to know that “on any given day”! And by all accounts the other young lady is a great player in her own right.

It seems that Paige is rarely shooting 3's anymore focusig on drives and assists more than ever.

Paige could use some of Donarski's muscles though. She is solid.

Donarski is a solid, impressive player......................I'm pretty confident PB could have scored 30 plus if that was the team's game plan in that contest...............as usual she appeared to be the facilitator for her teammates and never felt the need to focus on scoring for herself............I think she's virtually unstoppable when she wants to get to the basket unless you foul her...........

Paige, with her passing and defense (and shooting) was awesome but this Lexi (who I never had heard of before) was pretty awesome herself .... It would have been amazing to have her in Storrs, as well ..... just sayin'

Paige’s stat line for the game: 9 pts, 8 rbs, 9 ast, 4 stls. Very close to a triple double in a 21pt Hopkins win. I’ll take that any day.

So will Geno.
That's a great PG stat line especially if those 9 pts came on like 5 or 6 total shots. I love how the Sue Bird's of the world only score when they have to....

So, does Paige get to wear jersey #1 at UConn?

Doubt it. The 0 and 1 are pretty much off limits at UConn.

No.

My bet is she inherits Crystal’s #5. That’s what she’s been wearing in USA basketball.

Nika inherits #10 from Molly.

Piath #32 from Batouly.

What will be interesting to see is what Mir (who also wears #1) and Aaliyah (who wears Anna’s #24) decide for their numbers.

I am hoping that Batouly will be granted a 6th year and will be motivated to take it (assuming that she doesn't come back this year, which I do assume). In that case, her uniform number will not be available for reassignment.

There is no way that Paige (or anyone else) gets 0, 00, or 1. Even Diana didn't get that privilege (??).

Paige Bueckers stats since 8th grade. Perhaps her scoring is predicated on the team's makeup. I do like the 8.4 assists.

Scoring alone does not make Paige the best in the country let alone Minnesota. Below are total points for high school girls in Minnesota.

She'll either get DT's 3 or Sue's 10.

Incredible skills. She needs to get stronger, needs to learn to move her feet on defense and get experience at the college level, which will happen next year. Looking forward to watching you play next year, Paige.

I watched the video of that game and for what it is worth Lexi did defend Paige but Paige was not assigned Lexi to guard. Lexi needed to score for her team to have a chance, Paige just needed to be Paige for her team to win.
