Geno said as much in the post game presser. With three games next week, there is very little practice time. There is plenty of practice time before both tournaments. This is a joke, right?
Not a joke. The title of the article is
"UConn women’s basketball breezes by Georgetown 90-49 with another well-rounded effort; Paige Bueckers expected to miss rest of regular season"
I was able to get the article in "outline", and it's not mentioned in the article, so I'm not sure where the rest of the comments might be.
I thought Geno said in the Gtown post game presser that she would not be back this week. However, he has also said in the past, that the decision of when to play is pretty much Paige's. So...Geno was not definitive in his post game comments one way or the other. But just so we don’t overreact here on the BY, we are only talking about one more week remaining in the regular season.
AND, what I heard Geno say was that by the BE Tournament... she will likely be back. That gives Paige more time to get ready both physically and mentally. She will continue to work with the therapists, trainers and the Coaching Staff. She has actually looked pretty decent in the short clips that I've seen... all good signs. It is the last part of the article
Paige Bueckers update
Don’t expect reigning national player of the year Paige Bueckers to take the floor for the remainder of the regular season, according to Auriemma.
.... and a few more paragraphs after that.
Apparently it worked because it looks like everyone acts like the sky is falling.AND, what I heard Geno say was that by the BE Tournament... she will likely be back. Alexa was going for the attention-grabbing headline for the article... to get people to click....

Sorry, but either you added a word... "not" ... by mistake OR, Alexa's article is very different than the headline that says " Paige Bueckers expected to miss the rest of the regular season."She reported what Geno said, Paige is not going to miss the rest of the regular season".

I heard the presser... and that's what Geno said... largely because with the game schedule Paige won't get much practice time until the week leading to the BE Tournament. So, we should not expect her to play until the BE Tournament... and maybe not then... we'll see.
Yup. And then there is that long lay off between the two tournaments. That's a lot of time to gain valuable practice/recovery time. If we get her back for the NCAA tourney, will she have more rust than she would probably like? Yes. But....the possibilities are endless with her back in the line up.It’s two more weeks, folks. Today is Feb 20, three regular season games remain, the BEast tourney starts March 4.
