How’s this winner chosen? Does anyone know? I remember when Paige was the media’s darling, swept practically every award her first year, this award was given to Caitlin after Dawn tweeted this:

Notre Dame has a history of recruiting outstanding guards. If I was an opposing coach, close scrutiny of Notre Dame's recruiting targets would be strongly emphasized.

You ask a good question. The Phoenix Club of Philadelphia selects the winner, no explanation that I could find on the web site.

FWIW, and I didn't see it mentioned in the thread, Caitlin Clark has won the last 3 years in a row!
 
The “creator of the award” (per their Bio) didn’t even bother mentioning the fact that Paige is also a finalist.



In addition to misspelling her name on the website.
