As you said, Arizona does not have the (across the board) talent to make a go against the better PAC teams - this year. I do think it is only Stanford, the Oregon schools and Utah that are "impossible".Three consecutive 3s by Slocum just blew this game wide open. I think Arizona is toast.
I really feel like Alonso is a liability. Her effort is certainly there but simply lacks the physical skills to go against these good teams. The other starters at least show glimpses of being able to complement McDonald. As you said, Arizona does not have the (across the board) talent to make a go against the better PAC teams - this year. I disagree (I think). She is streaky. When she is on, she can score quite a bit, but she is a reluctant shooter usually.I really feel like Alonso is a liability. Just curious. If Aquino red shirted(I assumed she did) why does she dress for each game?
You're probably right. I haven't watched Arizona many times this year. I see she's scored in double figures 5 times this season, 4 of them against really weak teams. The times I've watched them (Arizona State, Utah, Cal) she's seemed very harmless on offense and rather slow on defense.I disagree (I think). She is streaky. She is a darn good point-guard, one of the issues that I think Arizona faces is that there are still times where players don't do what they are supposed to on the court.
I will agree that she may be a defensive liability - I've not seen enough games against good competition. In the end, she is what she is, a European player with all implied. I would argue she is the 4th or 5th best player on Arizona right now.
She was on the same team in Belgium that Lous' sister Karlie is on. Pretty sure she was released from the team. I watched a few games and she did not play well.Apparently Ruth Hamblin is in the house tonight and will be on Sunday as well. I didn't see her but I'm listening to a post game interview w/ Rueck and she just did a fly by.
Stanford scrubs looked pretty good.
I believe the scrubs are called Saplings at StanfordStanford scrubs looked pretty good.

Weise is in Israel this season. Starts and averages just over 11ppgThat's too bad. I think Wiese had a nice season in Australia last year, don't know what she's doing this season. Ex-OSU players have had fairly limited success as pros. Makes it all the more impressive what Rueck has done. The Final 4 year had 4 players that would eventually be drafted in the WNBA, but none of them made much of an impact at all. That was a strange year in general, but at least UW had Plum and Syracuse had Sykes. It's pretty unusual to get that far w/out any real future WNBA talent.
Jilliane Alleyne also in Israel this year. She averages just over 20 ppg
Her chances were hurt when she tore an ACL at the end of her senior year. She was drafted but wasn’t available to play that first season after the draft. Maybe she’ll get another shot.Surprised she hasn't done much in the WNBA. She did a darn good Chiney Ogwumike impression during her college career.
The program was left virtually depleted by Neighbors, and the lone starter from the 2017 team transferred. It takes time to rebuild a program from virtually scratch. Not a single player in double figures for UW. OUCH. Two w/ 9, two w/ 8. They need lots and lots of help. I still like Wynn, but I don't know if she's gonna survive long enough to get it turned around. Looking like a second disastrous season in a row. Year 3 needs to show major improvement or it might be time to try something else.
