Surprisingly Colorado beat Utah in Salt Lake City last night. Bad loss for the Utes, puts them below .500 in conference standings. Colorado is in the bottom 4, Utah really shouldn't be dropping a game like that.

The back half of the weekend, the Oregon/Bay Area schools and Washington/Arizona schools swap opponents, and UCLA/USC and Utah/Colorado get rematches.

Either a really good or really bad start, depending on who you are rooting for. Stanford up 11-0. Rueck has picked up a T and burned a timeout, not even 4 minutes into the game. Wow, wasn't expecting this.

Arizona was up 8 after Q1, but it's been all WSU since then. Cougs on a 41-15 scoring run spanning Q2 and half of Q3.

ARe you watching the OSU-Stanford game? Bad shooting, turnovers, bad refs?

The lid is finally off the bucket, now 15-10. OSU going 4 out 1 in, don't see that look from them much.

Mostly a matter of Stanford hitting shots and OSU missing shots. The foul call against OSU that caused Rueck to get a T was a really, really bad call.

Due to the unbalanced schedule, this is the only regular season matchup between the Bay Area schools and the Oregon schools. A bit of a break for OU/OSU that they don't have to travel to Stanford/Cal.

Beavers fought back, Stanford gets a floater right at the buzzer, 21-15 after Q1.

McWilliams is a different player all of sudden. She was much more aggressive looking for her shot against Colorado on Sunday, it's carried over today. She's already hit 3 3's.

Yeah, that makes the Sunday Stanford @ Oregon game a really big deal for the Card.

Oh, so Dee Kanter flew from SC to Oregon?

Stanford is 100% focused on shutting down Gulich. Automatc double team any time she touches the ball. She's struggling, but it should lead to some open shots for her teammates. Now 21-20.

OSU has had at least 3 chances to grab the lead, no luck so far.

28-25 Stanford. Smith and McPhee w/ 8 each.

28-27 at halftime. I think OSU had 5 possessions where they could have taken the lead, they failed to capitalize each time. If they knock down some open shots they'll be fine. Only 4-13 behind the arc for the team leading the nation in 3 point FG%. 5 TO's is a very acceptable number for a team that has really struggled in that department this year.

Scott got a T! A career first?

I don't remember ever seeing him get one. He's pretty mild mannered. The call was pure incompetence. On an OSU missed shot, Johnson from Stanford attempted to block out Gulich. She completely whiffed, didn't make any contact and fell down. Tweet. I have to think the ref didn't see the play at all, just saw a player on the floor and assumed a foul must have occurred. There cannot be a foul if there is literally no contact. I hate refs.

Kind of a pathetic half time score...what gives?

Arizona had gotten back to within 11 late in Q3, but now the Cougs are up 17 w/ about a minute left. The battle for the cellar is neck and neck between Arizona and Washington. Those two play on Sunday. The opposite of must see tv?

Par for the course. 2 defensive oriented programs. They played 3 times last year, and all 3 were low scoring affairs that were difficult to watch. (72-69 in 2 OT, 50-47 and 48-43--this one is an offensive explosion by comparison!)

I think McWilliams and Tudor did a Freaky Friday body switch thing. Tudor is scoreless w/ only 2 FGA. McWilliams is leading the Beavs w/ 11 points.

.-.
Pivec on a drive, and-1 to start the 2nd half. First lead of the game!

34-28 OSU, timeout Tara! Pivec has scored 5 quick points this half.

Rebounding was close to even in the first half, but Stanford is pounding the O boards this quarter. Good thing, because they can't shoot. Now OSU going cold after a good start to the quarter. 34-32 OSU.

9-0 run for Stanford, back in front.

39-36 Stanford. OSU can't buy a 3 point bucket. 4-17, 0-4 this quarter. Corosdale is 0-5, most haven't even been close.

43-36 Stanford. OSU forgot how to rebound apparently.
