Anyone else give this a shot?

A little family, laundering, cartel, red neck underworld etc etc ....... Sons of Anarchy meets Bloodline?

Liked it, far fetched like so many at times but kept my interest for sure.

The Byrds are at it again looking to get a casino approved and built.

As I watch I just can't stop shaking my head at how they get what they want so "easily". Yes, there will be some bumps in the road but there is a lot of 'yeah, rights' for me here.

Wife and I finished season 2 last night.

Yeah, it's far-fetched but it's fun. Love Ruth! She's hysterical.

My Wife ruined the season for me because she got four seasons ahead. I am already talking to a divorce attorney.

Ruth is by far the best character. I mean Jason Bateman does a great job doing his thing and making it work for a really dark character forced to do the morally reprehensible to protect himself and his family, but Ruth steals the show in the end for me.

Season 1 was excellent, but I am struggling a little with Season 2.

Just finished Season 2. Definitely not engaging enough to binge over the course of a weekend like I did with Season 1, but still pretty good television.

Wendy truly broke out for me this season. I also thought some of the subplots left some interesting possibilities for Jonah and Wyatt going forward. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be able to extract a story out of this premise, but I'll keep tuning in.

Season 2 gets a lot better after about Episode 2. It actually slows down a little, and it is more fun and realistic when there is a little buildup rather than lurching from crisis to crisis every 20 minutes.

Season 3 is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

Not a single day of R+R for the Byrd family. Holy crap.

Wendy and MArty couldn't have drifted farther apart this season and ended as a united couple again!!

Tom Pelphrey was an excellent addition to the cast this season (RIP Ben!!). Excellent performances. Just excellent. And the way he went out. Just wow.

And LOL at Darlene and Frank Cosgrove, Jr.

I could've done without the more intimate scenes between Darlene and Wyatt. Ick. But yeah, gripping storyline even though it stretched credulity multiple times. Ben was probably the only character with any redeeming qualities. I was expecting the character who died at the end to be knocked off, but not quite in the technicolor fashion it happened.

Sons of Anarchy on a casino boat in small town USA this was an excellent 3rd season. Unreal as hell but entertaining as hell. Perfect for an isolation binge. Sucks #4 isn’t awaiting us.

Binge watched the 1st 2 seasons last week and most of 3rd. I have 2 episodes remaining. I like the 3rd season the most.....

Sheeyit. Last season we saw Darlene riding her husband and we watched him do that final orgasmic push. Ughhh.

Funny to see the comments about the "yeah, right" moments when Breaking Bad follows a high school teacher who became a drug kingpin.

Trying to look down the line, is season 4 or 5 the final season? And how does it get wrapped up? Looks like the Navarro cartel is on the outside looking in on the cartel war. Have to think he goes down at some point. Does Marty take over all operations then?

Ruth was pretty intense, yet, same ol' until Ben came on to her. Then we got more depth. That was great. I felt so bad for her when the whole Ben disposal went down. She is turning to the Dark Side.

I am skeptical that Ben is dead. They didn't show his death. He was supposedly cremated while still in a body bag. Who does a cremation without looking in the bag?

And Jonah running his fingers through the ashes. What was that about? Did he find anything? It is clear that if Ben is still alive, Wendy doesn't know anything about it.

i don’t see it. Makes no sense at all for him to still be alive.

The Byrds ain't gonna make a mistake like not making sure Ben is in the bag.

Just finished season 3. The ending was pretty crazy. Didnt see that coming at that point. I didnt really quite get the point of Ben. He comes into the season seemingly out of nowhere, causes a bunch of havoc and then seems to be taken care of. I've probably enjoyed Buddy's character the most out of all of them. I think the kids in the show are really annoying outside of Ruth.

Ben might as well have been wearing a red shirt the whole season. I kind of wished that Wendy had killed him herself after he put her kids in danger. I did not see the ending coming at all.

I wonder if Season 4 will be like Breaking Bad was after Fring was killed, where it turns to chaos because no one appreciated how instrumental Helen was to the whole operation. At least one of Wendy or Marty is going to die by the end of the show. My money is on Wendy, but it could still go either way.

Looking forward to Ruth vs. the Byrds.

Interesting Theory on Wendy:
Here's some smoke to add to THAT conflagration:
The wild card in this series is Jonah: At the beginning of this series, he's just a Mensa-bright middleschooler fixated on computer games. He is plunked into the Ozarks & gets a whole new type of education. Under the tutelage of Buddy, he learns everything about shooting guns & rifles. He closely watches Marty & begins building his own financial nest egg using the $ 5K given to him by Charlotte as seed money. Charlotte gifts him an "espionage" drone which he uses for multiple surveillance purposes: protection of the family "hacienda"; adolescent checking out of Charlotte, Madison, & any other young women in a bikini; & ultimately overhead scanning along with his Uncle Ben for Ruth on the ominous money pick up at the Drive-In.
Jonah adored Ben, so much so that he took it upon himself to confront Helen with his shotgun after
Ben's assassination. Only Helen's reveal that Mom Wendy was the trigger ordering Ben's hit prevented Jonah from rubbing her out.
Ben made the prescient observation that he finally saw the Wendy that he knew while growing up once she took the power in her own hands & acquired the 2nd riverboat casino. To Ben she looked as alive & unsubdued as Ben felt when he was off of his Bipolar meds. That Wendy was ultimately the cause of Ben's demise is both ironic & could be the lit fuse of her own by Jonah.
It will be interesting to see the further character development of Jonah in Season 4. Marty is trying to provide a legacy for his kids. He's asked Charlotte to run the first casino, now that Ruth's resigned. Will he actively tutor Jonah further with the accounting? Will Jonah reach out to Madison because of "the kiss"?
Season 4 is eagerly anticipated.

Just finished season 3. I also think Ben is possibly still alive and his death was a ruse for some reason. As devious as some characters are, Marty is always two steps ahead.

Darlene is stone cold, maybe more so than Navarro. I despised her, but at times I gotta giver her credit.

I just don't know why they'd keep Ben alive other than holding him over Wendy's head. That said, anytime you don't see the death on screen or the dead body, rule #1 of TV/movies is, he's not dead. Right?

There is no practical reason to keep Ben alive and it was clear he was going to get whacked sooner or later. Marty is always two steps ahead of everyone else, so perhaps he somehow got to Nelson in order to save a family member. If Ben is alive, Marty would be a savior, and a villain for making the family suffer so much.
