Our Bracket and UCLA

The committee could easily decide to give the #1 overall seed to UCLA, given the sheer number of ranked teams that they have had an opportunity to play and defeat. If that meant that UConn was #2 overall, I couldn't say that was unfair.

But I also don't think it is that significant. It would theoretically mean that UConn would get the #7 overall seed in the Elite Eight round instead of the #8 seed, but Elite Eight pairings are likely to be distorted by other factors (such as avoiding intraconference re-runs) that it isn't likely to make much difference. If UConn can't defeat EITHER the #7 or #8 seed in the Elite Eight, then the team doesn't deserve the National Championship.

Really, the only effect of this decision is that UConn would wear blue rather than white uniforms when/if it faces UCLA in the Championship game. Last year, wearing blue uniforms in the semifinal round, UConn beat UCLA by 30 points, so that shouldn't trouble UConn fans very much.
If UConn was the #2 overall seed, they would not draw the #7 seed, because the top 4 SEC teams need to be separated by rule. UConn would face the 5th overall seed (LSU) in the Elite 8, rather than the 6th overall seed (Vanderbilt) which they would face as the #1 overall seed.

UConn faced 3 #1 seeds back to back last year, having to face only 2 this year sounds great. With Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd at the point of attack, I have full confidence in a Final Four run at minimum.

Every year this time I have the same thought: we have 6 games to win. Then I count them off. 5 left, then 4, etc.
It really doesn't come down to this opponent or that opponent. Here's the first, etc. Now MOV means nada: win the first, etc.
Lose, and you can stop counting.
I feel very good about this season: we seem to be Destiny's Team. Like in bowling: set them up, knock them down.
