Am I the only one that dislikes our blue uniforms. They have no wow factor at all. But will have to say that they are better than what Breanna Stewart had to put on.

They can be any color they want as long as NO PINK! the color does not define Uconn. GOLD would not be bad as gold signifies the HIGHEST standard there is. GO HUSKIES!!!!!!

My two cents…the problem is…we are ALL aware. It feels hollow and gimmicky at this point to promote awareness. It’s time to put the pink ribbon culture behind us.

In my household, we do not like this year's uniforms. We think the broad red band on the left leg looks ridiculous. It makes them look unbalanced. But then, maybe that adds to the confusion in playing against them. In any event, we marvel at how they play the game, not the costumery.

Funny, but it’s the single red leg that I dislike the most about the uniform. But I am very old timer fashion sense kinda person.

I have not seen the 12 national championship uniforms that are in the trophy cases, but I would think they are a mixture of home and away uniforms. Home uniforms should appear in the years we were the overall 1 seed, like 1995. Away uniforms should appear in the years we were not the overall 1 seed, like 2025.

This has nothing to do about the team or how they play. It was a general comment about uniforms. My opinion. And in 1995 they were a lot nicer.

the players, i assume, are aware of how attractive (or not) they are even if the fans are oblivious -- insensitive beasts, they don't have to endure wearing the crap!

image does count (imagine that). especially for young people who are much viewed by many people on freakin' national tv. whether i think the duds are snazzy is debatable and irrelevant, but i certainly think what the players think matters.

I think the point puppy is trying to make is wearing pink for one game doesn't save any of those 42,000 lives. (unfortunately)

But staying with the tread, I don't mind the blue uniforms. Although there is a problem with calling it "national flag blue" (Pantone 281, hex 0A3161) when it's actually Navy Blue (Pantone 289, Hex 000E2F )

The change to navy blue, abandoning decades of tradition, was done by Susan Herbst at the same time as the move to the "blue wolf" mascot from the all white mascot that had been the standard for decades. Both of those things were unique to UConn. As a general rule, unique is a good thing in branding.

My point was that putting pink on a basketball uniform and calling it ‘awareness’ glosses over a serious and debilitating disease. Personally, I think that awareness campaigns put too much of the responsibility for illnesses and outcomes back on to women and not on medicines and research where it belongs.

Almost as many men die of prostate cancer as women do of breast cancer, but we don’t see the men having ‘prostate games’. The difference is that breasts sell.

I’m expecting another avalanche of dislikes, but I stand by what I said. Breast cancer is a serious disease and pink game uniforms don’t really help people. I’ll be getting bilateral biopsies later this morning, so I have more of an interest in this than I normally would.

After nodding out the other night watching YouTube, I awoke to the 1995 Final four game against Stanford. I remember Tara saying she was sick about hearing about UConn and Tennessee. The final game will be Stanford and Tennessee. I imagined she changed her tune as UConn led by 24 points at the half. Now getting to the thread topic, as was the case last year the team wore new uniforms for the tournament. These unis had the BLUE stripe on the right leg. I thought they looked good, but looking back, the tops were so loose it looked like they were wearing a size too big for them. I really enjoyed that game just to shut Tara up. BTW, she said UConn had no chance against Tennessee in the final. No respect. This is when the Geno show began to form, and nothing has been the same since. Go Huskies.
