The Big 10 is looking scary right now. Through the first round of the NCAA FF tournament the four teams have routed their non conference opponents 8-1, 8-0, 9-2, and 11-1. Unbelievable domination so far…

Unfortunately, in the new era of the NIL the Big Ten will be most likely be getting 4-6 teams in the tournament annually. Combined with the college hockey powers such as BU, BC, Denver, North Dakota, St. Cloud, Harvard, Quinnipiac, Duluth, Minnesota State, Cornell and automatic bids from the Atlantic and the CCHA, achieveing an at large bid for UConn or any other programs not on the top tier becomes extremely difficult in the current climate.

In the era of the portal and the NIL, it seems as though the vast majority of schools in college hockey have become farm systems for the Big Ten and elite programs. Look at what Michigan State is doing this off season.

Eventually every conference and every sport will be the minor league for the B1G and SEC. The other conferences just will not have the money to compete with those conferences for players, coaches, and facilities. It is was it is. Just enjoy watching UConn compete on the big stage while it lasts.

They’ve been sayin this about hoops for 10 years. Nonsense

Hoops is about the only sport where CT B-ball”s observation doesn’t apply. In Football, baseball, track & field, soccer, lacrosse, etc. Big 10, SEC and ACC have built in geographical and financial advantages. Fact.
