I know pretty much every UCONN fan knows we are in an average conference (it's much worse on the women's side given the lack of quality of the teams in the AAC there), and all of us would prefer to be in the ACC, or better yet the Big 10.

I know football drives the bus. But being the only program to win Dual NC's ever, and doing it twice, not to mention with a brand new HC on the men's side has to be eye opening. I have to imagine this has caused our stock to rise quite a bit. Any rumors or rumblings out there of a potential cascade effect or boon from our incredible accomplishment?

I know from a hoops perspective, everyone knows UCONN is a great addition to any conference and immediately would be battling the top dogs every year. A great hire on paper for our football program is a good start, but will we have to wait a few years to see if the football results help bear fruit in the conference musical chairs game?

Well, if it worked for the national championship, I don't see why it wouldn't help with conference realignment.

I would give anything if the ACC would give Wake Forest the boot and invite you guys in their place. Duke has their place in the conference because they are a basketball power, and their football has been better in recent years. And every power conference has a small, private, academic school. Even the SEC (Vandy.) What a conference doesn't need is 2 of them. Boston College at least brings a big TV market. Wake Forest brings nothing to the table. Ideal scenario for me would be to boot Wake, add you all, have Notre Dame become a full member, and then grab WVU when the Big 12 inevitably implodes after their GOR ends.

League would have built in geographic rivalries all over the place.

It's interesting to see the thought process from fans of other schools. One would hope the AD's and university presidents of those institutions would know for sure the total facts, but you never know...

Look, I am a Louisville fan, so I think it is ridiculous how this whole "TV market" crap works. Programs like Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, and Rutgers bring NOTHING to the table better than us. Yet they all found a home before we did because of these ridiculous TV numbers. But it is what it is. Going off of SUCCESS and teams I would want to watch play, UConn and Louisville should have been the first ones picked up from the old Big East. Unfortunately, it is all about money instead of brains. That is why the Big 10 is stuck with Rutgers, the Big 12 is stuck with the West Virginia Islandeers, and you are stuck in the AAC for the time being. I just wish the ACC had enough foresight to realize grabbing a team like UConn is going to give you a way bigger TV market than freaking Wake Forest............ The Big East booted Temple before, why couldn't the ACC boot Wake?

Most of us here like Lville- dislike Uk and wish you luck- however there are 3 people in the NE that watch BCU ball that are not related to the coaching staff. Quse has a better following then BC and we have a much bigger following then Quse- particularly where it counts- NYC. We need a good home and all us would be delighted to be in the ACC.

Well, at the very least the B1G can monetize Rutgers by potentially forcing subscribers to pay up for the B1G. The ACC can't do anything like that for a decade. So Rutgers makes a little sense. Wake has been part of the conference for years. Tim Duncan went through there. They'd lose their soul by throwing them out. I guess I was taking a shot at BC since there is no way to monetize that market for the ACC. I kid you not that rodeo got higher ratings than BC football a while back.

I think we need to realize that by necessity or sheer desperation, we have a spent far more time researching these issues. Visitors probably assume the bits and pieces they hear from ESPN or trade amongst themselves represent the entire story or are confirmed facts. They also think there is one unifying reason for each and every CR move. There isn't. The reasons Miami, BC, MD, TAMU, RU, Pitt, UL, WVA, CO, UT, and ND were invited are all completely different and unrelated.

If there were one reason driving conference expansion, then we'd be somewhere else.
