Miami beat #1 Florida in extra innings in what is turning out to be an epic series.

WVU looks like they do not belong in the top 25.

Arkansas Texas Tech is gonna be grand this evening.

Xavier pounded Texas A&M 10-6 and is going for the sweep this evening.

FAU 17
UCF 3 in the 4th inning.

Freshman FAU Catcher Caleb Pendleton has hit two grand slams in his first two @ bats in the same inning.

Xavier took 2 of 3 against A&M.

Always be grateful for Chris Jones. I turned on the radio broadcast to another team and the very first words I heard were “Chris Spinny spins one in”

Next weekend's opponent Southern Miss took two of three at home against Northwestern State

... and Texas Tech had an ofer weekend losing to #6 Ole Miss, #7 Mississippi State and #8 Arkansas (talk about a early season gauntlet)

Future UConn opponent Coastal Carolina went 1-2 at home against Duke. The Chanticleers gave up 29 runs, and scored 21.

Par for the course for them. Great hitting and spotty pitching

VMI tried some magic tricks against UVA, throwing their best pitcher in a midweek game to try and upset the hoos.

It did not work, UVA crushed them.

It was also VMI's first game of the season, as their opening weekend games were cancelled.

Hmm, didn’t know that. Still unusual to throw your ace in a midweek game. To give regional opponents some credit, teams usually do not do this against UConn.

UNC’s Austin Love has held UVA hitless thru 6-innings. UNC leads 3-0. UVA’s Andrew Abbott has allowed 5-hits (2 HRs).

UPDATE: No hit bid ended by UVA in top 7th on a line drive single to LF.

UVA loses 3-2

Abbott pitched fine, but UVA simply did not back him up at the plate.

Zack Gelof just missed tieing it in the top of the ninth. Just missing a solo shot to the deepest part of the park. Fun game to watch.

College Baseball... UCF loses two out of three to FAU last weekend, drops a midweek game to Stetson, then comes back and knocks off #1 Ole Miss 3-2 tonight.

BC took 2 out of 3 at Duke and is now ranked as high as #18. We get them twice, home and away. It would be awesome if both teams are ranked for those games. New England has talent, no reason to go down south anymore with these two programs.

That was an unbelievable comeback by BC! Great to see a team from up North win 2 out 3 in SEC country! Plenty of good talent in the northeast and congrats to BC keeping them home.

I would love to see a 3 game series against BC, home and home and flip a coin to see who gets home field for game 3. It could happen with COVID-19. BC was scheduled to play Wake this weekend.

ND and Pitt are tearing it up in the ACC. Add in BC and the traditional cellar dwellers are at the top of their divisions. Lots of talent up North and being in the ACC gives players a chance to compete in the best conference without heading south.
