My wife and are craving the summer shady's from Leinenkugal. We first had them at the Gathering of the Vibes and found that all packies were out by then. We won't miss them this summer.

Nice! They are all over the place here, Leinenkugal is right in Wisconsin

I'm on my 2nd Vodka & Coke... Rum & Coke is just way too sweet for me. Yes, I'm odd, but they are good! LOL

I'm a martini person year round, but dark and stormy's are pretty, pretty tasty.

I've gotten into Aperol recently.

Just add a little water and ice- very refreshing with a little bitterness.

Dirty Martinis & Apple Martinis are my favorites...

I'm a traditional gin and tonic guy. Some of those things above sound like you need fallopian tubes to drink.

I'm with you. G&Ts all the way. Although I'll still reach into the freezer for my Sobieski.

Leinenkugal summer shandy of we are talking beer-type drinks

In the UK, shandys are definitely viewed as girly beer.

In college I tended bar for a summer in London. At lunch time every day the construction crew from a project down the street would come in and get loaded on shandies for an hour or so and then go back to operating heavy machinery several stories above the street. Those dudes didn't strike me as girly.

City folk.

But in reading other responses, it does bring up the question as to whether a shandy is more fey than an 'appletini'.

And Bud Light Lime? smh (in shame for my University)

I'd say the answer to your question is a resounding "no." Although I really don't enjoy either one.

Another great summer drink that i inherited from my grandfather is cheap red wine, lots of ice, and coke. Unbelievably good.

Here's a great article on Bud Light Lime:

Sapphire, ginger ale, twist of lime. Nothing against a good Sapphire and tonic either, but I prefer the ginger ale. The OP mentioned the Onyx Moonshine, which also works quite well with ginger ale/lime.

Other that... Summer Shandy and ice cold Coors Lights.

Give me a long Island, without the tiny umbrella, if you can make one, if not add a shot of Jack Daniels to a can of Coke, I'll be fine.

Hendricks is fantastic gin. I started drinking Sapphire and tonic in college but took a chance on Hendricks and was glad I did.

As for a summer drink. Homemade margarita in my Huskies cup.

Bolthouse Berry Boost with a couple Ambien.

If you have to tell us about your beer go ahead but...

this thread is about telling us what your preferred cocktail of choice is when chillin' round the house/yard. Last year I rolled with the Onyx Moonshine with iced tea and a splash of lemon. Quite tasty and smooth. This year I will enjoy lemonade with Absolut Berri Acai and blueberrys added. Of course the margarita will be o cool back-up. Anyone have a good home-made sour mix recipe?

So, what will you be buzzed on this spring and summer?

I drink a lot of Dark & Stormy's. Moscow Mules (vodka instead of dark rum) are also good.

Pimm's Cup is a great summer drink.
Thumbs up on the ginger beer drinks. I like the mule better. Wife likes the stormy.

Vodka and red bull. That's what me and my cool friends drink nowadays.

Good tequila, a fresh squeezed lime and some mango nectar over ice in a rocks glass.

Thumbs up to dark-n-stormy's and vodka, soda, splash of cran and a lime wedge.

Mint julep or a Presbyterian (rye or bourbon makes little difference to me)

For non-beer it'd have to be Soco and Diet coke with lime.

Sapphire gin and tonic all summer long.

Replace Sapphire with Bulldog and you're talking.

I'll have an occasional Dark and Stormy as well. The wife is a big fan of Pimms and if she's making it I will join in.
