Anyone go to the game last night? Curious as to how the new stadium is.
Didn't attend yet, but the parks been getting rave reviews. Like a miniature big league park.
I expect this stadium to be a hit and help revitalize the city. Bridgeport is succeeding, started with athletic facilities at Harbor Yard.
(We should also go after the Paw Sox!)
Deepster wants to know if anyone got shot.
The Rumor is that Hooker Brewery will not be moving into a new building by the stadium. Hooker is now supposedly moving into the Colt building.I know this looked bad for awhile with the lawsuit and delays but all indications are that the stadium is a jewel. Because it is so nice I would expect developers who were worried to follow through. What happened to the brewery?
Hooker Brewery couldn't reach an agreement with DoNo which was the development company for Centerplan (the contractor of the stadium that was fired and is sueing).
Centerplan still has control of properties around the stadium. So the whole "use the stadium to spur development around north downtown" is still up in the air with all these lawsuits.
Hooker is indeed doing a tasting room in the Colt building. But who knows if the opportunity to consolidate their brewery and tasting room back into one facility near the park comes up, I guess it could still be an option down the road.
see New Ballpark Adds to Hartford’s Financial StrainVery unflattering article in the WSJ earlier this week. Having left Hartford 25 years ago, sure hope the article ends up being wrong.

Worried? Or hoping we don't again?I'm worried that we haven't heard from him yet.
Massive crime reduction and lots of redevelopment underway. Even restoring historic buildings. Also setting up more and more corporate outlets. As a native of the Park City who still lives nearby, I wonder what revitalization you see in the city, because I can't see any. I see some attempts, but they all seem to be futile and very temporary.
