More of a Isaiah Thomas, but I recently remodeled my game identical to Brandon Jennings. Yes, I'm a flashy show off.
So you just hog the ball and jack up ill-advised threes?

Don "Magic" Juan. Oh, you were referring to basketball?....then Dr. J.

Clearly im too young for this forum.. But I modeled my jersey number off of Rip... Did his free throw routine for a while but definitely did not play like him. I guess more of a Jason Kidd, enjoyed the assists more then the shot. Ran the point my whole life, being a midfielder in soccer, seeing the whole court and dishing the rock was my thing. Now a days I wish I could play like Uncle drew though, handles are out of this world.

Ernie D...however, my 7th grade basketball coach couldn't seem to appreciate the half court behind-the-back bounce passes!

Oscar and Russell. In my neck of the woods in the early 60s, being 6-3 meant you played center or power forward. I think from CYO to HS, I only made 3 or 4 shots from more than maybe 8 feet from the rim. But I blocked shots all over the court. A sublocated right shoulder gave me about 5 inches more reach with my right arm than my left, so even though i play the game left handed, I did more shot blocking with my right hand.

Oscar? Not his point guard moves, but his rebounding. I was kind of skinny, but with a big ass and good lower body strength. I picked up his positioning moves in the paint for rebounding. He got more rebounds bumping guys out of position or knocking them off balance just enough with his rump than most guys did with leaping ability. That's what I tried to emulate.

Paul Pierce. Never was the quickest of players growing up but was quick enough. Use my body to get my shots off and I like to consider myself a good shooter, and solid passer and rebounder. Defense was something paul always did a lot better than me though lol

Magic for offense & Patrick for effort.

Jerome Lane. I was short and couldn't shoot. Unfortunately, I also couldn't dunk.

I think I remember you break the backboard on the Little Tikes basketball hoop against PC daycare back in the day....
Send it in Selles still brings back memories.

Always loved to do the Clyde head fake up and under move.
I also loved Connie Hawkins game but that is where the comparison between me and him started and ended.

But I would have to say Spencer Haywood because anyone who saw me play the first word that would come to mind would be "hardship" :)

After reading the story on Connie Hawkins as a youngster and having my first taste of what Bed Stuy and the surrounding areas actually were, I wanted to play like the smooth tall guard-like guy. But the finger roll from a 5'9" 12 year old wasn't pretty.........Spencer Haywood though? Good call, loved his game too!

The dad is having so much fun. Little kids are like really smart dogs that can learn amazing tricks.

Alright here's another add on to this thread.......how many of the old guys here loved the ABA red, white and blue ball and had to have one? I loved shooting it with the colors spinning on the jump shot - always cleaned it up so the white was white!!

Loved that movie growing up! I'm going to drunk Netflix it tomorrow when I get home from the FB game.

Well played, alexd.

Big shot bob. Robert horry. Tall guy that camped out on the perimeter and shot too many outside jumpers. :)

I think between 7th and 9th grade I did 3 book reports on Foul: Connie Hawkins :) ( I think the best sports book I've ever read).

You'll like this one then CC.......first non-white pair of Chucks was with our Jr Pro Boys Club team, coached by Tom "Gator" Bukowski, when we bought red Chuck's..........we also beat New Haven and Roxbury's boys club teams and went on to Rupp Arena finishing 3rd in the nationals (like of Pat Kenny, Bob Biestek, Chris Tillman etc etc)........fun days at the Meriden Boys Club

By the way Gator was the absolute best coach in Meriden despite the numbers others put like Norb Fahey and such. By the time I got to HS Tom had already taught me more than Norb would ever teach me in HS about playing the game!! Great guy was Gator......had a nice career at Fairfield for Barakat and was captain his last year there!
