What a weird thread. All this talk about cameras. It's an urban campus, so doesn't have the same kind of campus controls that you'd find at UConn. It blends into the neighborhood. There is residential across the street from where the shooting occurred. Expensive residential, so it's pretty well policed.
I don't think more cameras would make a difference. I do think lack of analysis of the data from the existing cameras might have helped. This is the kind of thing AI can be used for, spotting anomalous behaviors. I'm also a believer in treating anyone in a mask outdoors with suspicion.
