That had to be other players in Giants uniform. Did not recognize the defense. Offense came out second half with something called a run game. More amazing, I was able to stay up for the whole game. A feat I was not able to duplicate for many years.
Sadly, I am afraid fans are going to start saying, "Cruz who"?

A UConn win and #25 with a Giants win, Doesn't get any better than this.

They were still the Giants though Hankster. A lot of Eli and OBJ and yes a bit of a run game, but there were very few signs of a team able to upset the Panthers. Never know I get that, but the Dolphins aren't all that good.

But a W and a close is a start huh?

Dammit. I had event programming scheduled for early Sunday afternoon next week for my business. Now because the Giants won, the NFL is moving the Steelers game to 1pm, which will kill my attendance.

, Giants and NFL.

It was awesome to see the Giants win and finish out a game for once. However, we found them in the same exact spot doing the same things with 2 minutes left.

Up 7, 2 minutes left, 3rd and somewhat short. We threw it instead of taking the sure thing of running 40 seconds off the clock. Thank God Odell made that catch, because otherwise we could have watched another nail-biting ending of Tannehill marching down the field. I was very curious to see what Coughlin was going to do since it seems we've been in that exact situation too many times this year. Thankfully it worked out for a change. I'm not so sure we will beat the Panthers if both Cam and their defense play like they have been, but nothing would surprise me from the Giants with Eli and Coughlin. We're a team that can truly beat anybody or lose to anybody.

Plus it is home. Not sure if that has any bearing against Carolina. Spags called a few blitz's that worked out well. The pressure was on. I am sure we lost Flowers for the year. Perry on the OL was horrendous.

On different note. I live in Eagles territory. Every Sunday they are on local TV. However something is brewing. Twice the Eagles were not on TV. Rumor said it could of been for the half empty stadium. Don't know for sure.

Odell Beckham is pretty freakin good. Keeping wishing that Brady would get a deep threat like that before he dies (outside of for 1.5 years of Moss at the end of his career).

Coughlin wasting his last challenge, another missed filed goal, and Miami's unnecessary roughness penalty & allowing the touchback helped as well. Almost enough to make me think Miami went off script.

Moss was with the Pats for 3+ seasons, and he was outstanding for the vast majority of it. I know Brady got hurt in 2008, but Moss was still a great player in 2009.

Speaking of the touchback, Miami's punter was NASTY last night. It seemed like 4 times in a row he made the ball land at the 5 and just stop right there. Were it not for the guys fumbling the ball around in front of the end zone that would have been another great job pinning the Giants deep in their own field position.

OBJ is an absolute beast, him and Eli were playing Madden with each other. The Giants defense still sucks no pass rush still aside from a one handed JPP. Not expecting to beat Carolina but if the Giants do it would be such a Giants thing to do lol. Giants have a history against undefeated teams, the sneaker game vs the Bears in the 1934 title game, beating the 98 Broncos, and Super Bowl 42 as we all know.

I guess the one good thing about the other players on the roster sucking is that they will have enough money to pay OBJ.

He was good in 2009, but he wasn't quite as much of a deep threat, as his speed was diminished. He had 1 more reception per game in 2007, but 13.5 more yards per game than in 2009. He had 10 more touchdowns 2007. His Approximate Value (Football Reference) was 20 in 2007--his highest ever--and 13 in 2009--about average, but def below his peak years given Brady throwing to him. 2008 obviously doesn't count at all, as Brady didn't play. That's why I said 1.5 years.

Brady didn't really get Moss in his prime. If he does, he breaks all those passing records they set in 07 imo. Would kill to see Brady with a Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Antonio Brown, Beckham, Wayne, Harrison, Andre Johnson, Julio Jones, etc. in their prime.

Still can't believe Miami forgot to cover him a couple of times. If you are playing the Giants, you play man w your best corner, and give safety help over the top at the minimum. Idiots.

Who knows if they had a script. Their tight end coach is Head Coach atm.

Brady has the best weapon in the NFL in Gronk, he is ungaurable with his size and skills, and he more impact on the spread then anyother player in the league (non QB obviously) but your complaing Brady does not have one of the best WRs in the league as well to throw to?

And Pats fans wonder why everyone thinks they are the worst

Moss played the best he ever played in '07, and that AV of 20 was tied for second in the league. I don't know what you mean by he wasn't as much of a deep threat. That one catch/game completely accounts for the entire 13.5 yards difference. His yards/reception was identical in 2007 and 2009 - 15.2. He was fifth in the league in yards/game. He led the league in TD catches. That he stopped giving a damn after that is too bad, because he was still a sensational receiver at that point.

As bad as this season has been, I still appreciate that we get to watch Beckham play.

He is, without question, the greatest WR in Giants history, even after just 25 games. He has a chance to be the 2nd greatest Giant in history. And anybody who's watched him a lot knows I'm not counting my chickens. This kid isn't a fluke. He's 5'11" and produces like Calvin Johnson.

What about the massive touchdown disparity? He wasn't breaking free like two years earlier. But fine, you can have your .5 years. He played w Moss for TWO seasons then, not 1.5. Lol. The reason Moss had the best year of his career in 07 was Brady. He should have at least equaled it in 09 if he was the same player, given more time in the system. I'll grant you though, Brady coming off ACL had partially something to do w it. My original overall point stands anyway.

He is the best WR in the league already and probably saved Reese's job for another year (guy should have been fired 2 years ago).

Randle, Tye, Donnell, Harris, White, ect., are all average at best. None of them are good enough to produce despite ODB being doubled teamed constantly and none do him any favors by being good enough to bring any focus away from him. Teams have 1 game plan stop ODB, and none can do it.

If we keep Cruz, slim chance I think, and he comes back at 80% of what he was it would be great to see what both could do together.

Did I say he didn't have any weapons ever? No I did not. I'm taking about deep threats hear, hence the receivers I named. And that's why Pats fans get annoyed because everyone reads garbage into what they say based on their own biases.

I agree w everything you say about Gronk, but he's not a legit deep threat. He can do it, but it's not his strength. He does most of his work in the seam, and w intermediate routes. He can then break tackles and make big gains.

The point was that Brady rarely played w a legit deep threat. The knock I often hear from opposing fans is that he can't throw the deep ball. I call BS on that, as he just doesn't have that kind of threat to throw to. In 2007 he did, and look at the results: broken records.

The massive touchdown disparity is because the number he put up in 07 was ludicrous. In fact, I believe he broke the record that year. As I said, he still led the league in TDs in 2009. That Moss was only an outstanding receiver in 2009, as opposed to otherworldly, doesn't support your point.

Dude, are you being deliberately obtuse? The overall point of my post was that I wished Brady had a receiver like that for more than 1.5 years. You then nitpicked about .5 years. 2 years vs 1.5 years. Fine, I'll grant you the 2 years. So, my original statement (and point) becomes:

"Keeping wishing that Brady would get a deep threat like that before he dies (outside of for 1.5 2 years of Moss at the end of his career)."

Oh, and those 'ludicrous' numbers in 2007 would likely have been surpassed in Moss's prime if he caught balls from Brady on the regular. Moss was that good...and obviously, so is Brady.

So you interjected into a Giants thread to tell us how good Brady would be with a guy like ODB?

Ha, my point remains about Pats fans. And you do a great job proving it.

Nope, it was purely a compliment to OBJ. It's a pretty standard thing to say, as in "I wish that guy was on my team".

It was you who turned it into an inane anti-Pats fan rant out of left field. None of your reply was necessary with respect to a compliment paid to one of your team's players. Anti-Pats fan guys are far more egregious when it comes to this sort of thing, as you just proved in this thread.

Again, I wish I could see that guy on the Pats. Is that generic enough for you?

I have a gut feeling Cruz will not be ever 80%. It would be nice. He missed the entire year. Hopefully I am wrong. Wondering why Randle hasn't been busy. Give Harris more time on the field I believe he will shine. He has shown his talents. Nicks? I don't know. I sincerely hope Cruz makes a comeback, however I think the game is passing him by. Cruz and OBJ on the same field at one time? Who does Manning throw to. Donnell was doing good until yet another injured player.

I do like Harris, but he is what he is which is a solid WR3 and a great special teams player.

I agree on Cruz, do not think he will ever be close to what he was, but I hope I am wrong.

I have no hope for Randle and would be shocked if he was on the team next year, he had 4 years to demonstrate he could pick up the offense and be a reliable player and he has not done so.
