Cardiologist says my heart is, on the whole, pretty healthy.

Echo was good, no problems seen.

Stress test on the whole was good. The drop in blood pressure was unusual, but the fact that it rebounded means it probably is not something to be too concerned about.

However, I still have some pain on occasion, so he wasn't going to say everything was a-okay. Just because nothing showed up on the stress test and echo doesn't mean I don't have something going on but it is likely not a blockage because that would have shown up in the stress test and echo. He feels it is possible that my arteries spasm on occasion but that is very difficult to diagnose unless it happens during an EKG, stress test or echo.

I am to monitor it and call him if the pain gets worse. Suggested I take the nitro when/if I feel the pain as it may help. I can exercise, but he wants me to start slow and go easy and build up gradually and STOP if I feel discomfort. Otherwise, I will see him in about 6 months.

Bottom line: I am not in imminent danger of a heart attack. Phew!

Thanks for everyone's prayers and words of support and encouragement.

I can always count on the Boneyard!

Thanks for keeping us informed, Chapette!

Make sure you have your nitro with you always, just in case! And gradually begin an exercise program. It'll be life-changing. You'll be working out with Kelly Faris in a few years. :)

That is good news Chapette! I had something similar happen to me some years ago. A serious arythmia, followed by chest pains. Stress test and EKG showed nothing, echo-cardiogram showed some ventricular enlargement, and the upshot was I go to my cardiologist to be re-examined every year. Follow doctors' orders re. self-care: better safe than sorry. Best of luck to you.

Good for you UConnChapette :) I hope you continue on a course of wellness :)

In February, quite serendipitously, it was discovered that I had an aortic aneurism. The echo is what picked it up. I had open heart surgery to repair (repipe) it in early June. For me, I was lucky they found it. Not very good outcomes if something bad had happened. What I have since learned is that it is hereditary, 20% chance my kids have it and a simple noninvasive echo will diagnose it. If found early enough it is controllable so it never gets to a really bad stage. It is something one should consider having as there often are no symptoms (as with me).

That is some great news. Do not do anything stress related. My wife came in last night from cutting the grass
with a push mower, and had to take a Nitroglycerin pill. It was way to hot down here in NC for her to be doing that. Just try to stay calm, and try not to get stressed out.

Keep us updated.

Goof news, Chapette. Exercise is fine, but best to stay away from lawn mowers altogether. ;)
