I get that it's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but this is actually selling these for 25 bucks a pop:

I'd buy a Pat Lenehan "A Star Is Born" tee; at least the proceeds would go towards something more worthy than headbands.

He's a d-ouchebag for selling a tee-shirt?

Bet he gets a cease and desist letter from UK.

No Fishy, his being a d-ouchebag and his decision to sell t-shirts are mutually exclusive.

Kinda funny, if only for the provocation of the NCAA. Will they crack down on a "student-athlete" selling his likeness, or does the NCAA not own the likeness of walk-ons?

Well then..

I retract everything and burn with shame. Should probably do more research than scroll through a Twitter feed while distracted. Thread closed.

I think its funny. Besides, it is kind of a pain in the butt to deign , order and pay for a bunch of shirts. It shows motivation and entrepreneurial spirit, good for him.

I bet he wanted to make some money because all of his buddies on the basketball team have tons of cash and sweet rides.

Capitalism at work. The kid is raising money for himself and a cause.

Not everyone at uk (or on the bball team for that matter) is a douch-b#g, by the way.

Anyway, don't hate the playa hate the game.

Didn't get the cigar thing but just read that he is apparently considered the "human victory cigar."

I find it more amusing that he is actually named after the "Cheers" character.

I wonder what the NCAA with think of this. It was a while ago, but I remember Greg Anthony started his own t-shirt business while at UNLV and the NCAA told him he if he didn't remove himself from the business he'd be declared ineligible.

Maybe they've changed their rules since then. Or maybe it doesn't make any difference because the guy at Kentucky is a walk-on.

In that case I hope it's the coeds smoking the human victory cigar and not his teammates?

He cleverly doesn't use the logo or even spell the K out, gotta give him credit with the donations and all. Being a walk on who has limited skill on a big time team has to be a blast.

I remember watching the Red Auerbach Center Stage years ago on YES. They spent a good amount of time on his tradition of lighting up a victory cigar in the last few minutes of every game the Celtics had wrapped up. Idk why? but reading this thread made me think of that.

UK is T-Shirt U...seriously you should see all the moronic t-shirts they waste perfectly good meth money on.
