First time an African team has ever played in the little league world series. It seems pretty amazing to me. They lost the game but it was still fun to watch.

Is there a link for this? I could have sworn South Africa has fielded teams. South Africa even has pros in MLB.

They have been touted as the first African team in the LLWS - I think they play in the same region as the Middle East and Saudi Arabia has typically won that region.

Uganda won last year, but was denied visas to the United States, so Dharan, the Saudi team, was invited in their stead.

Was really sad to hear one of the Uganda players say his goal was to bring freshwater back home

Smart kid, right time and place to say it. I think he will get some results. An American kid told his mom that he felt sorry that them (i.e. Uganda kids) having so little, no shoes, toys, etc.... A huge donation drive resulted going viral on Facebook. The American kid realized the difference and how fortunate we are. No clean water and limited to no electricity over there, forget Xbox. This is a great country and also good to hear about the charitable spirit in our kids! Good story coming out of the LL Series.
