OT: UConn softball wins the Big East Championship (merged)

I have seen a bit of the actual World Series the last couple of years.
Oklahoma is just fabulous...especially when Bahl pitched. I have no
idea why she transferred to Nebraska...is that her home?

Wondering [from ignorance]: are the sub-regionals one and out...or 2 of 3?

3:00 Friday...will be a wonderful challenge...wouldn't miss it...on ESPN...correct?
Yes, Jordy Bahl is from Nebraska. She transferred there for the 2024 season but tore an ACL in her first game.
The Regionals are double elimination and the Super Regionals best of 3.
All games will be available on the ESPN networks and streaming on ESPN+.
Maybe this thread should move to the UCONN BASEBALL AND OLYMPIC SPORTS forum Women - UConn Softball and the 2025 WCWS

There is already one there

UConn showed their scoring capabilities in the Big East Tournament and they are going to have to keep it going against Nebraska. Nebraska most likely will start Player of the Year Finalist Jordy Bahl. She is a power pitcher and 2 time National Champion while at Oklahoma.
Hopefully the Huskies can play their best and keep up their winning ways this weekend.
Every NCAA Softball Tournament deserves an underdog in the Super Regionals and WCWS!!!

Lost to Nebraska 10-2

Double elimination so next up vs loser of LSU/SE Louisiana game.

Today UConn fell to Nebraska in their first game, 10-2, sending them to an elimination game on Saturday. They will face the Regional host, LSU.
Win or go home. If they defeat LSU, they will play a second elimination, also scheduled for Saturday.

SE La stunned LSU so Huskies gotta face an angry #10 team fighting for its life in Baton Rouge.

Nebraska a tough out. Loss 10-2

LSU next today at 3:30. I hope they can pull it out! Go Huskies!

Unfortunately the underdog isn't UConn but SE Louisiana upset and eliminated host LSU. On Sunday, they will face off against Nebraska to determine who will advance to the Supers.

Wow. Liberty eliminates the Aggies.

Quack quack

Possible there's a miracle?

In a surprise the dirty t is celebrating as the Kitty's advance. All my in-laws are cheering the Huskers upset.

Yep. Nobody loses better than my Aggies…..in any sport. #1 overall seed ……done.

Remember when Jimbo Fishers Aggies were #2 and then lost to App State?

Yeah…….

A stunning upset in the regionals. Overall #1 seed Texas A&M lost to Liberty. Liberty advances to the
super-regionals. Go Liberty! Hope they avoid Oklahoma and get to the World Series.
What would be the women's basketball comparison? Overall #1 seed losing in the sweet 16 game?

Harvard and Stanford. Only time it’s also ever happened.

No. Liberty was seeded second in their pod, meaning theoretically that they were somewhere between the 17th and the 32nd best team in the 64 team field. Much better than Harvard was in basketball the year they upset Stanford.

The dropoff in talent is steeper in SB than BB I think though.

Seems like maybe a 15/2 or 14/3 upset in the MCBB bracket. Or a 13/4 upset in the WCBB bracket.

They can only play Oklahoma if they reach the WCWS.
This is the first time that a 1 seed didn't win the Regional series.
I think your comparison is right.
