Unjust and unfair compared to what? The other programs who got caught buying hookers for recruits?
Compared to Miami which, because of incompetence by the NCAA, did not pay any price.

No kidding. The Canes deserve their own wing in a College Cesspool HOF. They're in a class by themselves.

I've always thought that we made a mistake of not taking a more aggressive posture regarding our own sanctions. (and yes, I know that also appealed to the sanctions committee.) Somehow an extra text or phone call or two seems benign in comparison to what's routinely goes on at 'cuse, UNC, of Louisville.

(Hmm just had a typo spelling that out as Louisvile - that's actually a pretty apropos nickname. In all honesty, if God doesn't destroy Louisville, he probably owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.)
Too bad to the casual non-UConn fans, any and all sanctions equals "CHEATING!". You have no idea how many times I have seen the extra text messages to Nate Miles, who never even wore a UConn jersey, used as proof/reason to call Calhoun and UConn cheaters from casual non-fans.

We should have definitely been more proactive and stubborn, any sanctions equals cheating to the mouth breathers so whether you get punished for giving a recruit a free cup of coffee or for hosting prostitutes for underage boys in hopes of winning their favor, you are seen as a cheater anyway. Just another reason that the previous administration is still to this day costing UConn in almost every department, including why we are still in this g++ forsaken conference.
