I expect better than "the"...

Purple Rain, The Waterboys

I was going to drop some Cowsills out of spite here but thought better of it. Steve Wickham's fiddle carries the day - if you've never heard a Prince guitar solo played on a violin, you've been missing out.

Billy Ward and his Dominoes - Deep Purple

Okay, I'm going to stretch it just a little here. Going with the possessive form.

Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant

I'm going to make like Hoop caught the ball out of bounds. No foul but the shot he took never happened.
So I'm going back to the previous post.

I Love the Dead, Alice Cooper

Little Cooper and the Drifters - Evening Train

Little Cooper and the Drifters - Evening Train

Train Kept a-Rollin', Aerosmith

A 70s tune (well, cover of a 50s tune) that I actually do like. Real driving rock n'roll.

EDIT: changed video from 1974 version to 2012 as Joe Perry's playing was awfully sloppy on the first one. Album version better than both (probably because session guys played the solos!).

And you know I can't keep myself from coming back with Tiny Bradshaw's original.
Tiny Bradshaw - The Train Kept a Rollin'

Johnny Burnette's Rock & Roll Trio did a rockabilly version of it 6 or 7 years later. But I don't do rockabilly.

Reverend Black Grape, Black Grape

I lost this CD a few years ago... my favorite of the 90s. Shaun Ryder is such a trainwreck.

Yeah, that's even out of my range. But I couldn't find the Blind Lemon Jefferson version of it.

Not leaving y'all much to work with, but it was the only song that came to mind...

So, you're saying I've got a little Rodney in me? ;) I'll take that.
