Interesting artist rendering. Where do they park where he cars?
Temple has been moving forward with an “ on campus” stadium since we lived there 40 years ago.

You see, the funny thing about on campus stadiums is that many are not surrounded by parking lots - shocking! I know.

>> According to a university document, more than 32,000 parking spaces are within the vicinity of Main Campus not counting the more than 4,600 controlled by Temple. Traffic and parking for game days will be continually reviewed.<<

If anyone has ever been to SEC games, or really many big time on campus stadiums around the country, it really is amazing how many are not just dumped in the middle of unending parking lots.

Instead, many are squeezed into the middle of campus, similar to the way ballparks like Fenway are squeezed into city blocks.

I thinks it's pretty cool.

People here don't really understand that.

This isn't the NFL.

Hmm, what will be more effective, a donation to UConn athletics or a donation to an anti Temple stadium community group? In ten years Temple maybe well positioned to help the ACC fill that donut hole between Washington and Boston. Ugh.

Have you ever been there? I have. Good luck. I can’t wait to see 40000 cars on the Shurekill Expressway and Broad Street. And we all think Storrs is a traffic bottleneck.

its awesome. At Auburn people are tailgating throughout the entire campus. Walked the main quad area by the library and it was PACKED with tents and people grilling/drinking beers etc. Was pretty cool to see.

Auburn is great and was definitely one of the schools I was thinking of but UGA is off the charts.

Mostly because Athens>>>>Auburn

I have, actually.

I didn't mean to come off as attacking you.

If a fanbase cares about college football, they will make it work.

And yes I'm implying that having an on campus stadium goes along way towards making a fanbase care about CFB

I just thought it was funny that, upon seeing a beautiful rendering of a new stadium, your first reaction was "where do they park the cars?? That's like the most connecticut reaction to something ever, no offense ;)

For night games I would not feel comfortable parking in anything other than an official Temple lot (with security) in close vicinity to the stadium.

93 thousand people smack dab in the middle of campus, hardly a parking spot in sight.

Best college football experience around, I would highly recommend going to anyone who hasn't been!

Wait i'm confused. Where did they used to fly airplanes into and how do people from Atlanta get to Athens? You can't even park right next to the stadium!

What's also really cool about the stadium being smack in the heart of campus is that the Greek housing is all right next to it. Its about a quarter mile walk down a hill from the stadium to the Greek Row. Just an absolutely unbelievable experience. So easy to see how/why they get the kids invested into the program and in turn, have lifelong fans.

Believe it or not, the alumni base in Atlanta is willing to drive almost TWO full hours on two lane roads in order to attend sporting events on campus

Actually, believe it or not, that's not even the "real"Greek roe. Those are "lower tier" frats and sororities. The old money Greek houses are on the other side of town on Millidge Avenue. Those houses, um, mansions are just...wow.

That's cool and all, but imagine how much cooler it has to be to drive to campus from Carriage, park in a garage and walk to the Union, and hop on a yellow school bus and ride 35 minutes to a deserted airfield disguised as a football stadium with no amenities and a cheap DJ.
