OT: Stock trading

During the idiot era, I'm starting to load up on the below to get me through, thanks to all the free cash from the adult era before the idiot era began/resumed:

XDTE
NVDY
AMDY
RZLV
INOD
RGTI
ROK
SERVE
AISP
BBAI
TSSI
TEM

Thoughts, recommendations?
So the mistake I made with this post is that we might be building human labor shoe factories instead of data centers. Be careful here.

Or you can be intelligent, sell off most your port over the winter and be sitting on a pile of cash right now, like me and Warren.

Hey Warren, the biggest impediment to successful investing tends to be hubris.

You’re the best. Is that what you’re waiting for?

Can you at least let everyone know for which investment firm you work so we can all transfer our accounts over to you asap or should I just look up “Jay-Bone” on my Bloomberg terminal?

So for someone who knows nothing about stocks, is this the worst time ever to get into it or can I buy something low? I dunno lol!

"Many a small fortune has been made starting with a large fortune."

somewhat related to:

"He has more dollars than sense."

LMAO, if you're not freaking out, you probably shouldn't be adulting in the first place. Talk about absolutely clueless.

You realize that post was almost a month ago, right? Policy is driving the current drop, but it is also likely an overreaction.

If you managed to get out around March 1, congratulations. I've been there (sold everything on February 19, 2020). Good luck timing the re-entry. If I had done that last time around, I'd be retired by now. I didn't, and ended up in the same place that I would have been if I had done nothing. So now I will do (for the most part) nothing.

Exactly.

Something like “be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful”

If you’re young it’s a great time to start and even better if it goes down more. Think long term, put money away on a regular basis and let it grow.

If you really know nothing, don’t look at individual stocks. Instead put money into ETF such as SPY, VOO, VTI, etc

If you know nothing, don't buy stocks. Buy ETFs. Add in bond funds if you're approaching retirement. Or if you really just want to not think about it AT ALL, throw your money in a target date fund and call it a day.

I can see a SPY push up to $525-530 tomorrow perhaps, then a dump down to $440 or so.

Not sure what past Wednesday will bring. More bleeding I presume.

What’s your strategy for getting back into the market? When?
I don't have much to offer on timing the market (other than I shouldn't try to).

But for me I think soon. If the S&P feels like it's at least stabilized for a minute I'll start dollar averaging back in. Or if it keeps dropping below where we are....keep liking the cash?

Treat it the same as you would all other crypto. I personally consider it gambling. I'm not a gambler. Sold my BTC and ETH back in 2022.

Good morning!!

Anyone here use Fidelity Baskets or M1 SliceS? I’m not a trading newbie and I work in tech. I’ve been trying to setup an M1 joint account with my spouse and honestly I think the App sucks, which makes me nervous about placing a ton on money into M1. Support is Only available via the app and you do not know when an answer will be coming. Baskets is like 5/6 a month and I’d rather pay for the layer of support.

Anyone use either M1 or Fidelity to create your own basket or pie?’

This is very good advice. ETF’s and Bonds to lower your risk.

I will caveat that with, there may be some individual tech stocks that I think are still worth gambling a bit on, because of the expected growth in AI. Thinking in the semi conductor manufacturing/developing vertical.

I have been investing half of money myself and half of my money with a well known wealth management company for the last 15 years. In that time I have done a little better with my half than my wealth management firm. That was until recently I got all out too late and I was tech (Nasdaq) heavy, but thankfully I had already converted some of my assets to precious metals and bonds or it would have been worse.

But I do think there will be some significant opportunities over the next 3.5 years. I will be more aggressive with my half and let my financial advisor take the safe road. I have about five to seven years left before I make the move to going with a very low risk portfolio, I am fairly certain that will be in the form of an indexed life insurance policy.
