The Clash - Charlie Don't Surf

Charlie don't surf and we think he should
Charlie don't surf and you know that it ain't no good
Charlie don't surf for his hamburger Momma
Charlie's going to be a napalm star.......

Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Cortez the Killer

He came dancing across the water
With his galleons and guns
Looking for the new world
And the palace in the sun..........

Written in 1962, the song contains one of Dylan‘s most insightful lyrics “the pellets of poison are flooding the waters” which way back then he offered that the line referred to the lies people get from what has become to be known as the mainstream media.

A great song by Celtic Women.

This song looks so familiar. Then just find out it is the same tune as "Danny Boy".

Other lyrics have been written to the tune, but none of them are as well known as "Danny Boy". "You Raise Me Up" (sung by Josh Groban on his album "Closer") is a different tune, even though large parts of it are very similar to the "Londonderry Air".

'Danny Boy', aka 'The Derry Air', aka 'The Londonderry Air', is the city's single most famous export. It is also probably the most-recorded Irish song of all time and has served as a national anthem for the Irish, Irish-Americans, Irish-Canadians and Irish-Australians.

Weather Report, the Dead.

Winter rain, now tell me why, Summers fade, and roses die.
The answer came; the wind and rain.
Golden hills, now veiled in gray, Summer leaves have blown away
Now what remains? The wind and rain.
And like a desert spring, my lover comes and spreads her wings, Knowing,
Like a song that's born to soar the sky, Flowing,
Flowing 'til the waters all are dry, Growing, the loving in her eyes.

Danny O'Keefe, The Road:

Phone calls long distance
Tell you how you've been
You'll forget about the losses
You'll exaggerate the wins.....

sumtimes, when the unexpected happens, folks can knee-jerk think 'that was good luck!,' or 'that was bad luck!' yet only after the fullness of time can they actually know.
now she was sure real quick to up and apologize,
when she heard about my new found luck on the fm dial.
and it's crazy how lately now
things seem to come in waves.
what i thought was gonna be the death of me,
was my saving grace.
got me thinking that her leaving
is the only logical reason,
that i got the last spot in the hooters parking lot,
and the waitress left her number on the check with a heart!

and i ain't got to see my ex future mother in law anymore,
oh lord, when it rains it pours.

i must now remind you,
