A lost love...

I told Althea, I'm a roving sign
That I was born to be a bachelor
Althea told me, OK that's fine
So now I'm trying to catch her
Can't talk to you without talking to me
We're guilty of the same old things
Thinking a lot about less and less
And forgetting the love we bring

Even older than me, this one reaches deep into my heart.

Recorded in 1935.

There are three R&B songs I thought of for this thread (other than Luther)

My best friend's gone (a dog) Reminds me of my dog Princess.

I'd even put The Boss's "Born in the U.S.A." on the list. It's funny how so many people have never really understood it being about a Vietnam vet who has lost his old life, his dignity and his faith in his country.

It's a rare opportunity to see something as fine as I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow actually created. But, yes,we have the recording and it adds to the song. ;)

I don’t know most of the songs that everyone has posted. And I don’t know if this song I’m about to post really is about loss but it certainly makes me feel that way.

Of course its blocked. Yellow Ledbetter.
I believe Eddie Vedder wrote it when his friend found his brother had been killed in Iraq. The friend's last name is Ledbetter.
It's about losing his brother to war and than people not being able to really understand his grief and the sorrow that he's feeling.
