Some things are irreplaceable...at least until something more, um, captivating than p-ball.
I can only repeat:p

You need to know I grew up with a tennis court in our backyard and my grandparents, and aunts and uncles all playing every Sunday afternoon.A lot of doubles and mixed doubles was played. I just find the game passionless and boring today like many things in pro sports. A good game of racquetball, squash, deck tennis, or Pickleball is far more fun and interesting than this present era of tennis. Big racquets ruined the game reduced large chunks of it to boring baseline rallies and swinging from your heels. I'm just a fussy old traditionalist.

Can't say that I don't disagree but there are some players who are mixing it up these days and making the game more interesting.

I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you: there's still nothing as exhilarating as crushing that winner past a opponent or lunging successfully to stick a volley.

Maybe it's because I play singles, but the athleticism and pace of the modern game is far preferable to me. The alternatives you mention simply don't compare.

You like what you like that's fine but I find the present game completely uninteresting. Playing any of the above including tennis is preferable to watching the game as it is. I loved serve and volley.

The end of one of the best seasons in tennis history. She won 11 tourneys this year. She did it at an age when most are washed up or close to it. I would be exhausted too.

You keep coming back to a thread on a subject that you don't believe belongs on a basketball forum. Me thinketh that you are less adverse to the topic and more captivated by the responses your words may stir...there's a word for that...ummm...roll..mole....vole....now what is that word?
