Me too! I remember doing a book report about him In whatever grade you had to do a book report.
 
I remember when Vida first came to Fenway as an undefeated rookie. But he had to face the Sox' undefeated ace - the immortal Sonny Siebert.

Vida was in the middle of one of the strangest episodes in baseball history. Oakland maverick owner Charles Finley was trying to break up the team for cash. His sale of Blue to the Yankees was one of two Finley deals commissioner Bowie Kuhn cancelled in about a week for “the good of the game”. Blue never got to NY and Kuhn hated Finley as did a lot of people.
