I am old enough to admit I had a crush on Patty Duke when I was watching her own show in the 60's. Thought she was a great young up and coming actress but as many of those years ended up, had some personal issues which led to a more rocky career than expected.

Nonetheless a "legend" to an old guy like me. RIP Patty Lane too!

I wonder how "Cathy" is taking the news?

I think that means we just lost Sally Fields because aren't they the same person?

"...but Patty's only seen the sights a girl can see from Brooklyn Heights..."

Her parents gave up their parental rights to her agent when she was maybe 10? That screwed her up for many years, and she was diagnosed as bipolar. At one point when she was still only around 20 she was Frank Sinatra's girlfriend, among many others. She gave her whole family a really bad time until they cured her condition with lithium. She later became President of the Screen Actor's Guild.

RIP, Anna. That was her real name.

There was a popular dance named after her that we used to do. And no it wasn't corny.

Shout out to all the 70's generation who remember Patty, we're losing them guys and gals:

Always preferred Cathy…

Patty's son went on to become a legendary hobbit… Oh yeah -- and then there was that role in Rudy...

Wow!!!

Emma Peel, Morticia & Gomez, tons of great old (I'm talking as far back as the early 1960's) shows.

I think the guy on the right (of the two dancing with Patty Duke) is the (real) father of Sean Astin. He looks just like him.
