Did Geno ever get on good terms with her? Her program helped build the UCONN womens' with the rivalry.

64 is scary young to pass from advanced Alzheimers.

Geno vs Pat was always a great show. Best wishes and sympathies to her family and Vol nation.
 
She was so fun to hate. Admired that. And she was a big part of UConn's exciting rise to power in women's hoops.
 
She brought women's bball to the big stage in the early espn era. Geno was luck to coach against her

Yes. When Pat Summitt set up a foundation for Alzheimer's research, Geno was among the first donors. The two ran into each other after than and had a warm conversation. The relationship had definitely thawed out.

Mmmn, I going to say no to pretty much all that post, but that's a dicussion for another day.

Sad news. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. Back in the day, Coach Summitt was first our most feared opponent and then our most hated rival. While we were competing against each other, the Vols were the team we most wanted to beat and the game we looked forward to on the schedule. It was a classic rivalry which became "must see basketball" and drew in fans who otherwise would not have watched woman's basketball. While I am sad for all that know and will miss her, I am happy that she is now free of all ailment and infirmity.

RIP Coach Summitt.

We all knew she was in grave condition but your never quite prepared to wake up to hear the bad news. Buddy Ryan also passed today a sad day in sports, a boring day in sports has become news worthy an a bad occasion. RIP to the 2 coaching icons.

Agreed. One of my favorite things to do in WCBB was hate on Pat Summitt and root against TN. A lot of that had to do with respect for what she put on the floor. And 64 is really young when you think about it. Shame.
 
A lot of good articles out there, although I'm not a big fan of Wetzel in general, I thought this was one of the better ones.
