Wait!! Danny, don't you think we deserve and explanation of why EDD is in a picture with your dog?? Just sayin....

At the time with basketball, school, and going for Lyme disease treatment Elena knew that dogs needed more care and time then she could give them. The Great Dane was going to her coach but she preferred it if she could keep both dogs together and my family wanted both dogs. A few months after we had them Elena, Megan her roommate and her mom came to my house for a visit and gave me her jersey that she wore to make the USA team. I wore that Jersey the day UConn won their 89th game in a row and on one of the pillars inside Gampel Pavilion there is a photo of me and Phil holding up 4 foot balloons (89) with me wearing that shirt. Here is a link of the photos from that day and yes her signed hand prints are still on my kitchen wall.

I have played competitive sports for most of my life. I consider myself very fortunate that, at the age of 69 years, I can still compete with my best friend, my English Cocker, in Dog Agility:

We have a Coton de Tulear named Max, a chubby shih tzu named (Princess) Penny and the youngest, and bossy shih tzu named Buff. All turned 7 in the last couple of months and all came from a (fairly) reputable pet store in NJ. Most likely, when the time comes, we will do rescues, but at that time we really, really wanted the Coton.

Penny and Max are hanging out next to our bed (my wife, off screen, had just gotten dressed) and Buff is sitting at the dinner table like she expects to be served. She wasn't, by the way.

I love this thread. I'm so happy to see so many of you have rescues and/or adopted. I volunteer upwards of 20 hours a week in animal rescue and it is so rewarding.

Since my sons left for college, I am the care taker for these 2 cherry head tortoises. They're not much trouble and will go back when my sons' are on their own. It's a long term project.
