This one is really wide open to interpretation. I'll start w/ an actress I like, I had no idea she's also a singer. She's performing in Seattle in June but I'll be out of town so I'll miss it. It's not the greatest but it's legit I think. Lola Kirke. Has a nice country rock groove to it.

To me Brie Larsen is pretty much unrecognizable in this role as Envy Adams in "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." This is actually her singing lead vocals on a great song by Metric. Her vocals aren't as good as the original but not bad at all.

Original version for comparison.

Metric - Black Sheep

Ken Curtis who played the character "Festis" on "Gunsmoke". He replaced Frank Sinatra with the Dorsey Band. He was also the lead singer for The Sons Of the Pioneers when they were featured in this John Ford Movie "Rio Grand".

Did you know that actress Shannyn Sossamon is also a musician? She is a drummer and singer(and I believe producer). Along with her bass playing sister Jenny Lindberg and others formed the band WARPAINT, although her acting career took off and she left the band after a very brief stay. Here is a piece she did. Her sister is playing bass and I am not familiar with the other young woman.

Not only sings, but has his own band. Tours and has a couple albums out.

Red River - Kevin Costner and Modern West

Anyone remember Darla Hood from the Little Rascals? I was somewhat surprised to learn that she had singing career as an adult.

My secret crush: Linda Purl. Linda attended a private high school in Washington, Ct. while starring in the first of her many movies, Jory with Robbie Benson. Also played Fonzie's girlfriend, and Matlock's niece.

Again not sure if surprising because he's been around so long. Bruce sings blues and plays the harp.

Devil Woman - Bruce Willis

I thought Kevin Spacey did a good job in the biopic Beyond The Sea, portraying Bobby Darin.

.-.
Few people are old enough to remember that, before Bob McGrath became a regular on Sesame Street, he was the lead tenor for Mitch Miller's show, Sing along with Mitch.

There isn't a single person listed on this thread that could or could've made a living off of their singing. I'm glad they all had/have day jobs.

Well, I think I could have retired comfortably off of what Patrick Swayze made from "She's like the Wind", which hit #3 on the Billboard Charts, and #1 on the Contemporary charts. The song became a big part of the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, which sold over 30 million copies and spent 18 weeks at #1 in the US. He also wrote the song, so he gets residuals from every cover of it. When he died, Patrick Swayze was worth $40 million, so he didn't do too bad...

Just because his singing career was born on third base, don't believe for a second he hit a triple. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
